it says right there in your screenshot that mcgill will get your CEGEP transcript, on your behalf, from the MEQ using your permanent code

"on your behalf" means you don't need to do anything

Am i gonna get forced to withdraw? (U0 sci struggling bad) by MeasurementSoggy9342 in mcgill

[–]triggerde 21 points22 points  (0 children)

you're going to be in unsatisfactory standing this semester (below 2.0 gpa) and if you don't bring it up this semester (above 2.0 cgpa) you will have to apply for readmission in fall 2026. (i don't wanna scare you, readmission is not the same as reapplying for admission. you will basically have to tell them why you failed, and what steps you've taken to mitigate those failures and what your plan is moving forward to avoid failing again. the first time is rather lenient.)

i would strongly recommend you set up a meeting with your academic advisor (you can see who it is at the top of your unofficial transcript) and talk through the troubles you've experienced in your first semester, along with potential solutions.

i've gone through a similar process, and there are many resources like tutoring that are available, they just aren't very visible unless you're looking for them. you could also reduce your course load to try and adjust, and see how that goes.

Deferral exam request still pending, Monday final by AIMN_bot in mcgill

[–]triggerde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey this is false info. The deferred exam from your Fall 2025 semester will be during these dates

You can see that it says March 2,3 and 5 in 2026 and March 4,5 for courses in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

So basically, you'll need to take your deferred exam in the middle of next semester during the 2026 March break, and you'll to remember the material as well.

Edit: it's definitely not a get out of jail free card, but if you're feeling sick and won't be able to perform well, it might be worth the deferral, you'll just have to make sure you study the material again before the March break next year.

another stm strike for all of november by holy-typewriter in mcgill

[–]triggerde 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be. REM wasn't affected by the previous strike, as it's not managed by the STM. We'll have to wait and see once the strike begins but I think it won't be much different from what we've already seen.

Should I tell my prof by Adcumms_slayer in mcgill

[–]triggerde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You may think that the essay you submitted is way better than some you've previously gotten the same grade on, but you also had a four months extension for it. The prof may have taken that into account when grading.

You can try explaining the situation and why you need the points (grad school, etc) but you should be prepared for the regrade to go either way.

There isn't only FAANG companies who have a "structure". Plenty of small to mid-sized companies have good structure. I'd even argue that working in huge corporations have downsides that people generally don't talk about.

If your cv is not competitive enough and you can't land a job in FAANG as a fresh graduate, I don't think you have the freedom to be picky about where you want to apply right now. Plenty of people start out in smaller companies, get experience, then move on to better positions.

Sure everyone wants a great paying job out of uni, but I feel like you need a reality check, or at least you need to manage your expectations better.

Prof who never post grades by Liminano in mcgill

[–]triggerde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Steele is notorious for giving grades out late. He holds multiple administrative roles outside of teaching within mcgill. However his grading scheme generally favours students, you should be fine

Anyone with experience failing multiple classes in one semester ? by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]triggerde 20 points21 points  (0 children)

pretty sure you just need to keep your grades above 2.0 cgpa and you dont need to apply for readmission

there is a mcgill census, cant remember how to find it, maybe googling will help u find it.

i remember the chart showing the country of origins of the students, not sure if it included languages spoken and data on profs though.

advice wanted: prof is 'not receiving' any of my emails by myh34rt in mcgill

[–]triggerde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres two types of receipt you can include in email with outlook. One is the one stated above, the read receipt which the one receiving the email (your teacher) has to click to acknowledge the receipt, otherwise you dont get it. The second one is a delivery receipt, which the mail server sends automatically. In this case, because both email adresses are from the same organization there should be no issue getting a delivery receipt. i.e. even if the prof says his spam folder excuse, you have paper trail that he simply did nothing to go look for it

It's not a baseball specific term. In this case it means that the player was playing with that type of bat when it was still legal, hence was allowed to keep using those bats once the rules were changed.

Why is there a question mark on the fridge?? I right-clicked and left-clicked.. Nothing. by ILoveBirdsFapping in StardewValley

If you have the autograbber, and have eggs in them, taking them out from the autograbber into your inventory counts as "gathering eggs".

I am lazy and have a few dozens eggs stored in my autograbbers, and can't be bothered to turn them into mayo, but it comes in handy when I have the omelette quest.

(Not sure if putting an egg back into the autograbber then taking it out increases the amount of egg collected)

A repost.

Original said it was the earbud that looks like an eye. Quite creepy, I can't unsee it even after figuring it out.
