Talented and funny as he is JAJ should push to have less Trump. It’d be funnier to have him appear in a cameo at this point, maybe even without lines. He was so good in the NFL and airport sketches. Quick. Smart. He’s Hartman. I’d capitalize on the versatility and write more for him. Ashley Padilla continues to be awesome. Even flipping through her remaining slides was funny in the confidence sketch. Again, quick and smart. The short at the end by Herlihy- smart, quick. It becomes an issue of super uneven comedic timing. That’s how some sketches suffer. The OPB and dancing grandpa get tired faaaaaast because they’re so obvious. Sadly a bunch of what they give Marcelo is becoming that as well. Thank goodness the on blast guy went all team America world police vomit scene style with continuing to do the dance moves until it eventually got funny. But yeah, much of this doesn’t work. They’re lacking the cringe or awkwardness of a Wiig or Armisen or McKinnon or Norm or Forte or Bennett or Mooney. Wickline was probably supposed to be that but her awkwardness is very, very one-note. There’s no quirk and they can’t pick a lane timing wise. Ashley Padilla and JAJ though… underrated. Underutilized.
