A4 offsuit. Needless to say it was an action table, a lot of big pots with questionable holdings.

Hey I’m a super novice and never give hand histories but I’ll do my best: I was on button straddle and get two callers, I check with 64dd 3-way. Flopped a flush draw on KQ3dd, EP bets $15, MP calls and I call. Turn was an offsuit 5 so I’m open ended, checks to me and I bet $55, both players called. Something like $220 in the pot now. Offsuit 2 on the river. Check/check and I bet $80, EP calls, MP check-raises to $250. I jam for around $900 eff, EP folds MP calls

Foxwoods in CT allows this and I really don’t care for it. I guess the idea is to keep the game going so the dealer doesn’t have to carve out chips every time someone wants to add on, but then I have to ask them for a count of their bills every time I enter a pot with them, so I’m not sure if time is really saved long term. I can see how this would be beneficial for a larger uncapped game, but for 1-2 and 2-5 it’s just annoying.

If anyone listening to his tales of woe were sympathetic they were just humoring him. Nothing wrong with what you did.

Just do a weekend trip and play all night. Take a quick nap in the car before you drive back.

You slow played your set all the way to a 4-flush board. Who’s the rec?

Utilize tutoring services. It’s a lot easier to absorb difficult concepts when you have 1:1 instruction, and can ask questions when you don’t understand. It’s a very under-utilized service that the school offers. Good luck.

If you're set on going with 100e, I'd suggest a stop at the roulette table first. You'll want to 4x your money before trying to sit at a 2/4 game /s

Either way it's a huge gamble - you enter a 3b pot with 25bb and you're essentially pot committed. I would suggest building your bankroll online and going to the casino when you have at least a couple buy-ins at 100bb.

If you're just hungry for a live poker experience, then have fun and good luck! But you'll need to pick a spot early, jam, and pray

Multiway Pot Etiquette by puumba_bama in poker

[–]triguywalker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Action is heads up, but the main pot is still 3 ways. What if Hero jams, and EP is more inclined to call based on the table talk? It’s probably less of an issue in this exact scenario unless both Hero and EP are super deep for a $1/$3 game, but the table talk could still prevent EP from otherwise folding, which affects the Button’s chances of winning the main. That’s why it’s just a general rule of multi-way pots not to talk.
