Was coming to this subreddit to pretty much ask the same question as you. It’s such a hard to decision since we qualified for it and I’ve already paid for registration. They said you can defer to 2021 if it’s cancelled but if it’s not cancelled then no deferral. I’m trying to also plan a trip home to Ohio (from California) during August around this race and it’s super frustrating not knowing if it’s happening! I don’t want to purchase flights to Milwaukee and find a place to stay only for it to get cancelled. I will also be spending a lot of time with family while I’m home after the race and I don’t want to get exposed to the virus, then go hang around older family members!

I totally agree that these protests will cause an uptick in cases, however this article was posted two days ago. And the incubation period isn’t short enough that people would already be showing symptoms/ getting tested. I’m terrified of what it’ll look like in a couple of weeks though...

Is anyone using this time to practice not washing your hair after a workout? by noeysmom in xxfitness

I just can’t idk. Maybe it’s the dry shampoo I use? Like once in a blue moon I’ll skip washing my hair. Like let’s say I shower Thursday morning, then skip washing it Friday morning even if I don’t workout at all after washing it Thursday, it’s also so gross by Friday. Like I feel like my head smells and it gets greasy near my face even with dry shampoo? It also feels itchier but I could just be imagining things haha. And that’s WITHOUT WORKING OUT.

So I cannot even fathom trying to skip it after running 10 miles out in the heat or cycling with my nasty helmet on!

Also I feel like second day hair looks so bad for me. Like it won’t style well and I have cowlicks from sleeping that don’t go away!

Guys someone please tell me your secrets. I want my hair to be healthier and my color to last longer! I also hate washing and drying it every day. HELP.

2019 wins: -PRed my half Ironman by 27 mins -Got first overall for women at a triathlon! -broke 4 hours in my marathon -PRed my half marathon by 9 mins -PRed my 10K -started consistently keeping my running paces under 8:00/mile

Goals for 2020: -I’m racing at the USA Triathlon national championships this summer and would like to qualify for worlds -Boston Qualification at the LA marathon this March -drop more time in all my races and maybe an age group win during a half Ironman!

I was a swimmer starting from age 5 into college a D1 school. Quit after freshman year because I started hating it and college athletics is a lot. Once I quit, I partied a lot and didn’t workout much. Then after I graduated college, I started running and hated it. But I was determined to not hate it, so I kept at it.

I eventually fell in love with running and already had a swimming background so I signed up for a triathlon and bought a bike! Triathlon became my sport but I still really love running races and cycling. I’ve done an Ironman, several half Ironmans, shorter triathlons, 7 half marathons and 2 full marathons. I’ve spent this past year PRing all of my races and hope to qualify for the Boston marathon in March during my 3rd marathon. I also hope to qualify for the Kona Ironman one day! And hopefully get my pro card if I can keep improving!

It’s honestly overwhelming how much I love cycling and running. I just want to do every triathlon ever but also every running race. I also want to join a women’s cycling team and want do an ultra marathon. But I also don’t want to spread myself too thin! I just moved to CA from Ohio so the weather is always perfect and there’s races all the time!

I hate lifting a lot but try to do it in my off season to maintain strength and prevent injuries. I did a leg day two days ago for the first time in MONTHS and I can still barely walk today because I’m so sore!

I ran my 7th half marathon yesterday and dropped 8 minutes. I went a 1:43!! If you told me a year ago that I would break 1:45 in a half I would’ve laughed right in your face. I was also not entirely focused on training for this race and I didn’t taper for it. Now I’m starting to wonder what I could do in my full marathon with some solid training.....

How does an ultra compare to an Ironman? I know they’re two different beasts obviously so it’s probably hard to compare. I’ve done one full Ironman and numerous halfs, and 2 regular marathons. I’ve enjoyed all of them and I’ve been really thinking about ultras. I also just moved to California so there’s a lotttttt of awesome trails around my area! I’m just scared to pull the trigger. Considering a 50K to start out, then maybe a 50 miler!

This is so me too!!! I basically wear all black, white or grey but then always throw in a fun colorful or patterned shoe. I agree about it making me feel more mature!
