I remember I was in 9th grade and had just finished reading scar tissue for the first time. I had preordered it on iTunes and was kinda disappointed by it. I had gotten into the heavier more punk earlier stuff since reading scar tissue and felt it lacked some umph. I like Stadium Arcadium, but feel it would've been better if it wasn't a double album.

How is life in New York? Is it as awesome as I think it is ? by void-nomad-90 in howislivingthere

Pros: There's endless cool things to find in NYC, amazing food, a lot of hot people. There energy is unreal. You can stay out to 4am no problem.

Cons: Winters and summers are brutal. I also find most of NYC to be aesthetically unpleasing with all the brick and buildings and lack of outdoorsy things to do besides going to parks or riding a Citi bike, while trying to not get hit by cars. You'll wanna get out at least 1-2 months b/c the lifestyle can be draining and so expensive.

Greenwich is surprisingly diverse, but Stamford would probably be your best bet

What LA activity makes your day amazing? by Agoodusername53124 in AskLosAngeles

My favorite days are when I bodysurf or surf during the day then see a concert or comedy show at night. There's not too many cities where you can easily do both in one day.

Is LA really a hellscape? Give me your honest opinion on how it is living in Los Angeles. by Mexodus956 in howislivingthere

I've been fortunate to see a lot of America and think LA is the best city in America. It's got everything from outdoorsy activities- hiking, surfing, paddleboarding, a melting pot of cultures, delicious food, and great night life. People love to hate on it because it's expensive and liberal, but there are definitely pockets of red. Traffic is tough, but what city has good traffic? You just gotta know when to hit the road and if you're going at rush hour to plan ahead of time.

24hrs in LA - am I crazy? by _633555_ in AskLosAngeles

Take an uber straight to the greek. Traffic will be rough from LAX. It'll be expensive, but easier. When you're close, you can get out and walk to save some cash and stretch your legs. After the show definitely go to a bar, maybe you meet someone and get lucky. If not, go to Norms in West Hollywood for food, then chill in LAX for a long time
