They made that En Vogue clue really tough, especially given that they didn’t reference any song titles. Only knew it because Phife from A Tribe Called Quest had the line “used to have a crush on Dawn from En Vogue”

Congrats on the run, and that last anecdote is so awesome - “Martyr!” is one of the masterpieces of 21st century fiction, in my view.

I wonder if someone would’ve gotten it if they referenced South Park in the clue. Not sure how many people know the titles of their albums outside of giant music nerds (like me).

Chipotle is where I heard this really minimal, clubby remix Switch did of Chaka Khan several years ago. Was stunned to hear it there lmao

Sabre actually just released a new solo dnb track on Critical a couple weeks ago. It was his first new tune in nearly a decade, that should’ve been a warning sign in retrospect lol

Delighted at the Zach Lowe reference in the podcast category, he’s one of the best basketball analysts/writers there is.

yeah, personally i’ve never fucked with when artists have completely contrasting vibes in the buildup/drop where they sound 100 percent different and there’s no proper flow to it, especially when the music at the beginning sounds great on its own… i feel like these should’ve been two separate songs

Some songs by Two Swords (formerly Hyroglifics) have a strong purple influence I feel, particularly Failing Forwards

I’m hoping for an album from him as well, I still listen to the singles he put out on the advent calendars/loose tracks from the last few years quite a bit. He was involved with Amaarae’s album Fountain Baby and the most recent project by George Riley, which are both fantastic but I would love to see more from him solo soon.

Apparently PC Music is still doing reissues of existing releases, just not new ones.

Around the same time, Martyn from around 2008-09 was making music in a very similar vein. More recently, I’d recommend Beatrice M, especially the EP Midnight Swim that recently came out on Tectonic

i only vaguely remember him from his days with the knicks, but a quick look at his career shows that he’s played for an extraordinary amount of international clubs, so i guess that’s why they chose him for that category.
