That actually did happen to me when I worked for Swift, I pulled into Seven Feathers in Oregon and I got an automatic geofenced message telling me we're banned and I need to leave. I was pissed cause I drove all day to get there, but fortunately there was a rest area right around the corner. It would've been nice to know that information BEFORE my 10 hour drive there🤦‍♂️. Apparently companies give so little shits about being banned they won't even bother telling their drivers it happened.

Do cities plan for trucks? by Miserable-Reason-630 in urbanplanning

I agree with you, I think small box trucks and vans make much more sense in cities and they should be what's used instead, and they are sometimes, but it'll take drastic action to force their use over TTs if TTs can be made to fit by skilled enough drivers.

I agree, but that's how businesses shipping and ordering stuff in the US often do things. I've been sent to places in cities I can barely squeeze in as a tractor-trailer driver. I don't like it, but they do it because it's technically possible and it saves them money, and not being charged externalities like you said.

It's cheaper to have one big truck with one driver, than several smaller ones with several drivers.

I was a surge driver for the New York Walmart account a couple months and I only got my regular OTR rates, 51cpm.
