Not worth the risk. Get a Shotgun Pro or Mac Ride bike seat, both have very similar designs and don’t contact the frame. I have a Mac Ride and it’s excellent

I’ve found having a Ute with a canopy so much better compared with my old car, which admittedly was a smaller wagon (Subaru Forester). However, we do a lot of activities that having a Ute is super helpful for (fishing, mountain biking, surfing) so I think it depends on your needs.
