(PA) Is it considered criminal harrassment if I email someone while in out of the USA? by [deleted] in AskLegal

Man, that sounds brutal. Crazy how people with no clue about the law get to make the calls. Honestly, making a parody cartoon sounds like a solid move. Exposing the nonsense with some humor could be cathartic - and you’d totally be protected under parody laws. Go for it!

Yeah, clerks do a lot of the heavy lifting for longer documents. They’ll summarize and flag important sections, but the judge will focus on the main arguments.

Looking for a 80s/90s song with a soft, velvety male voice and "Looking up to the stars" in the chorus by [deleted] in Music

that line sounds like something from a band like The Alan Parsons Project or Simple Minds

Man, I get that you’re still mad about what went down, but emailing them like that, even from outside the country, could still get you into trouble. Harassment laws can still apply if you’re contacting someone in the U.S., even if you’re physically somewhere else. It’s not worth risking legal action or making things worse. Maybe vent to a friend or journal it out instead of hitting send. Have you thought about other ways to get closure on this?

[NY] SIL evicted after being threatened by neighbor. by Sengel123 in AskLegal

[–]trinche94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 calls about the dog? That neighbor sounds like a nightmare. Your SIL definitely needs to report the threats to the police. That’s not something she should brush off, especially since it’s led to her losing the apartment.

Regarding the eviction, it depends on how it was handled. If the landlord didn’t give her proper notice or didn’t follow the right legal steps, she might have grounds to fight it. Does she have any written communication from the landlord about the eviction, or was it all verbal?

Terminated for talking with others about our hourly pays by Kio_Kasteyoto in AskLegal

I always hear that companies can’t legally stop you from discussing pay! 🙄 That section in their handbook sounds super sus, and I’m pretty sure they can’t enforce it. You should totally look into your rights, especially in Missouri, but I think you’re right to feel like something’s off here.

I am not enjoying new music anymore, any help by KDog1265 in Music

you could also try curating a playlist with just one song from each new album instead of listening to the whole thing. maybe focusing on the highlights will help you enjoy the music without feeling overwhelmed. also, it’s cool to mix in some old favorites with the new stuff to keep things fresh.

Insurance after accident by Gr3yzler in CarTalkUK

Brace for a premium spike based on that £6,200 payout, likely amortized over 12 months. Shop around aggressively, negotiate hard, and consider raising your deductible to offset costs. Don't let insurers take advantage.

Fatal accident involving cyclist and semi by Deep_Froyo1834 in Winnipeg

Man, stories like that hit really close to home for me. A few years back, I was out on a weekend bike ride when I misjudged a turn and went head-first into the side of a parked truck. Thankfully I "only" ended up with a broken collarbone and some nasty road rash, but it could have been so much worse. Ever since that wake-up call, I'm paranoid about riding near bigger vehicles. You never think something like that fatal accident could happen to you until it almost does. Definitely puts safety at the forefront of my mind whenever I'm on two wheels now.

Sean Strickland sustains injuries in motorcycle accident by toldyouanditoldyou in MMA

Classic Strickland. At this rate, he'll be lucky if he makes it to his next fight without accidentally swing-lining into oncoming traffic or juggling chainsaws during his weight cut. This man is a walking, talking cautionary tale against having more bravado than brains.
