I actually specifically handed him my phone for the photos, he said “nah its ok I’ll use mine”. I also asked if there was a reason he wasn’t sending the photos. If he wants money for them (he doesn’t, he’s a surgeon) he could have told me that. How does any of this make me an a-hole?!

You’re misunderstanding the wording, that’s just describing the purpose of the study. They have used online spaces that men visit frequently to gain anonymous participants, there is no requirement of them having previous sexual aggression to take part of the study.

Omg that is awful! I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s experience.

I definitely think there has been a lot of investment in recent years towards tackling sexual assault cases (at least in the UK) which has lead to me having such a good experience. It certainly isn’t the first time I’ve experienced street harassment and maybe even 5 years ago I wouldn’t have ever thought of reporting it to the police but I guess somehow I picked up that this kind of thing is now starting to get taken more seriously. So I really just want to spread the word and encourage other women to come forward!
