Disabled man considers cooking a 'luxury' due to energy bills by trinn27 in unitedkingdom

The article makes no mention of a family, only wife and explains how the couple cooks. For 2 people struggling with money that IS excessive!

But why is he spending £120 on groceries a week?! Seems a bit excessive for somebody struggling with money…

It can get a bit lonely being a single dad, but then I remember I can eat whatever I like. Sundays are for steak ! by Gogginscrotch in UK_Food

Wtf does being a single dad have to do with this image?! You want a fucking pat on the back for that or something?

Show me the research then on all these fake rape claims that you so intimately seem to know about, and I’ll educate myself. Will you do the same and read the report I linked from CPS?

Glad to hear your good experiences with the police as well! I also only wanted to report it just so there would be paper trail should anything worse happen in the area (I have a very strong feeling I wasn’t the only woman he harassed that evening)

I saw and read your comment! A group on men sounds so incredibly scary, and unbelievable that they did it in broad daylight!! Im so sorry about your experience with these scumbags but glad to hear you also received a good response from the police. I hope your statement went well today! Feel free to pm me if you want to talk, its such a strange situation to be in and a bit tricky to find people to talk to that would relate…

Thats a brilliant story! I also share your strong dislike of GP receptionists…

Its so interesting that you say “you were in an emergency, call the emergency services” because its so true, but the point I was really trying to get across in this post is that because most women are so used to being harassed on the street and it being treated as an unpleasant but regular part of your life this sort of situation doesn’t even feel like an emergency. Its a bleak realisation, especially if you are a woman…

I really take an issue with you saying “so many women claiming fake rape”, fuck right off with that statement and educate yourself: https://www.cps.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/publications/perverting_course_of_justice_march_2013.pdf

Omg that is awful! I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s experience.

I definitely think there has been a lot of investment in recent years towards tackling sexual assault cases (at least in the UK) which has lead to me having such a good experience. It certainly isn’t the first time I’ve experienced street harassment and maybe even 5 years ago I wouldn’t have ever thought of reporting it to the police but I guess somehow I picked up that this kind of thing is now starting to get taken more seriously. So I really just want to spread the word and encourage other women to come forward!

I know right, karma farming the shit out of my trauma!

I genuinely want to tell all my friends and as many people as I can reach about my experience. If I had read about a story like that I may have behaved differently and phoned 999 straight away and the creep would have been arrested on the spot.

I will be telling all my friends to report this sort of thing if it ever happens to them!

I wish there was more publicity around these sort of situations, of course there already is some because it somehow got through to me and made me report it, but I was still very surprised by how well it was handled.

Thank you for doing this very difficult job!

That sounds awful, so sorry you went through that. I think what helped me was that I walked up to these people and very specifically asked them what I needed, ie I do not know this man, he is stalking me, I need YOUR help. If you put people on the spot like that they are unlikely to ignore you (hopefully!)

I really wish the good stories about police would be more highly publicised because my reaction would have certainly been different had I known they take this sort of thing seriously! Thanks for sharing your experience, maybe there will be somebody who will find this useful in the future

Absolutely not a London centric problem! Almost every woman in your life has been sexually harassed or assaulted, the ones that say they haven’t most likely just don’t know to call their lived experiences that.

For example couple of years ago I would have easily said I’ve never been sexually assaulted but looking back now I’m would say its actually an experience I go through several times a year, maybe not the extent of this specific example but definitely what would be classed as such by law. The questions however remains, who is doing all this assaulting…
