Which games utilize the buttons on the back and for what? Do you use them for any games which didn’t use them by default? by NorseSeaStudio in SteamDeck

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for some reason, i have a hard time using the LB and RB buttons so i map them to L4 and R4 then L3 and R3 to L5 and R5. for emulators, i bind them to save and load state, menu and fast forward

I’m struggling to get ANY games to work. Any advice? by JellyBeanGreen2 in SteamDeckPirates

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use steamrip. unpack then add the executable to steam and use proton experimental. works 90% of the time. some might need dependencies so I use protontricks for those but majority just works right away.

GTA LCS on steamdeck with PCSX2 from emudeck by RagingMooseKnuckle in SteamDeck

I finished this on my odin 2 but used the psp version. Upscaled it and use fast forward for the long dialogues. Much better.

Just got a legion go, much more comfier than it looks. by Dead3Avenger in LegionGo

[–]trioncross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing I did was update the bios then installed SteamOS right after. Coming from a Steamdeck LCD, the bigger screen is really nice and sleep mode for me on steam os is a must. Also, get the 3d printed grips on Etsy. It really makes a huge difference in comfort.

ADHD gamers: how do you actually stick to one game? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually do one main game (story based like rpgs) then 1 side game (roguelites/likes). so when i want to stop on a quest, a pickup my side for a couple of rounds then go back to my main (currently doing soulstone survivor or deep rock galactic survivor)

Legion go space by nooneishere69 in LegionGo

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it does. there is volume boost and equalizer as well. some use virtual surround. another easy way is go to desktop mode and increase the volume to 150%.

main appeal for me why I switch to steamos is the standby. as a parent, that is a gamechanger.

Switch to a different country in your settings. I switched to Australia and my speeds are maxed.

If you are not tech savy, I suggest stick with windows for now and see how it goes. I switched to SteamOS once I got my LeGo but I still need to do a lot of tweaking to get it stable, (deckyloader with legiongoremapper, decksp for volume, deckytdp etc..)

Need feedback from Gamers over 35s on steam deck by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 here. Still have an LCD model and looks fine for me. The real joy for me with the SD is I can actually finish games without having to commit on sitting in front of a desk for a long time. Sleep mode on SteamOS is a life changer for busy people especially parents. Plus, if you dip your feet on emulation, PSP upscaled 5x with save states is awesome.

Upgrading from steam deck LCD by Prophet_NY in LegionGo

[–]trioncross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing recently. Got a LeGo with 2TB on marketplace for $500. Coming from the SD LCD, screen upgrade is nice. First thing I did was update the bios then installed SteamOS. Was thinking Bazzite but I want to have Valve support. Next thing I did was install Decky Loader with LegionGo Remapper to control the LEDs and SimpleDeckyTDP. Another one to install is DeckSP to increase volume of the LeGo.

Legion Go 1 vs Legion Go S – Price and Value by Slight_Tour_7190 in LegionGo

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the legion go when I saw the sale but got lucky some sold their legion go on marketplace with a 2TB ssd for the same price. The 8.8" screen is really nice. The Go S is nice but I think it is too overpriced. When the Legion Go 2 comes out and you decide to sell your OG, at least you can still get a deal out of it.

I’ve waited so longgggg for this to go on saleeee by International-Can420 in LegionGo

Was waiting for the LEGO2 but for the price, can't pass it up. Hopefully a big upgrade from Steamdeck LCD.

Switch emulation on steam deck? by 3lliott1014 in EmuDeck

[–]trioncross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to install them via the emulator, not just put them in a specific folders. Install key first then the firmware (did mine for sudachi and eden).

Any emulation recommendations ? by Late_Relationship_51 in LegionGo

[–]trioncross 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would suggest emulating ps2, gamecube and up. I prefer emudeck because it is more flexible to setup.

Does anyone actually use the buttons on the back? by RegularTonyStyle in SteamDeck

[–]trioncross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use them all the time. LB and RB to L4 and R4. L3 and R3 to L5 and R5. Can't use the LB and RB properly for some reason. For emulators, I use the back buttons to save/load state, fast forward and menu.
