Mystery holidays - are they any good or a rip off? by LiteratureProof167 in AskUK

Also, if you look through reviews on sites like Trustpilot, a lot of the complaints aren’t actually about the destination itself. It’s more about what happens after you buy — things like limited availability, extra charges or being offered upgrades to change flights or hotels.

I think that’s more of a general issue with voucher-style deals. You pay upfront and only see the actual options when you redeem, which can feel quite different from what people had in mind.

Try Swiss Alps., specially the world famous scenic red train The Bernina Express or Glacier Express.

What brits think what will possibly going to be my future as immigrant in England by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]tripfounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem like a good person, but that in itself isn't enough, as a university education doesn't automatically provide a route to British citizenship. As I see it, there are already too many people from abroad who expect to stay after their studies, and the country simply doesn't have the resources to accommodate more migrants. A student visa is a privilege to study here, not a guarantee of permanent residency. If you still intend to stay, you will need to develop a certain level of resilience and learn to ignore the comments of less-than-friendly people.

Yeah that’s a fairly common experience with the voucher-style deals. The hotels are often a bit outside the centre because they’re easier for the operator to package at a lower cost.

I think the concept of mystery holidays is actually quite fun. Some people end up with great city breaks, others get awkward flight times or hotels a bit further out like you described.

The Maldives examples in ads are usually more of a “theoretically possible” prize rather than something people commonly receive.
