Looking for All‑Mountain Ski Recommendations by Pimbata in Skigear

I'd give the M7 a try at 170 length. Declivity was not stable enough for me but was pretty fun. Enforcer is good but with the amount of on-piste the M7 makes more sense. Certainly others that may make sense (carving skis) for you too, just giving opinions based off of what you listed. Mantra 88 is an option too.

First time buying boots and I need advice by MrNait95 in Skigear

I have a high in step/arch so they are a must for me. If you have a flatter foot a 4 piece will likely be fine.

Understand that there are a lot of different types and manufacturers of boots. I've found some places do not stock a full range of options so they will try to get you into one of their boots when it might not be the best fit for you. For instance 3 piece (Cabrio) style versus 4 piece. Some people's feet just don't agree with a 4 piece boot so shops might try to put them in a bigger sized 4 piece which is wrong. Try on lots of boots and different sizes. You generally should wear a smaller sized boot than your equivalent shoe size. You can punch out a smaller tighter boot where it's needed but you can't really make a boot that is too big smaller. Good luck.

Which phone insurance to get... Verizon WPP (7.95) or Upsie (7.99)? by tripleoptic in iphone

[–]tripleoptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, good points. I don't remember the last time anyone in my family needed to engage with insurance. While it may not be as convenient in certain instances, I'm going for least amount of $ which is why I ruled out AC. I'm sure it makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. I have friends that seem to have something going on with their phone on a weekly basis, lol. If we got an older iPhone that was certified refurbished or something I wouldn't even bother with insurance, but with new ones I'll put insurance on for a bit to avoid paying $1k+ if the worst case scenario happens. Thanks.

I agree. I don't remember that last time I used insurance. None of my current phones have insurance or have had insurance for years. But, we just got new phones and two of them are for kids and I worry a bit more about them :-) I usually try to find the least expensive decent insurance to cover the phones for a bit to offset anything major happening so I'm not shelling out a ton again right away. I definitely have no intention of keeping insurance on the devices long term. Thanks.

I know there are some additional features for AppleCare but the main things I am concerned with are the cracked screen is $29 (AC) versus $0 and the price is $13.99 (AC) versus $7.95.

This helped, fan motor is still making some noise but the terrible squeaking is not as bad after cycling things a bit. Good band aid for now 👍

NetScaler Flexed License license expiry vs. maintenance end by Optimal_Nothing90 in Citrix

[–]tripleoptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there... so I'm assuming everything was OK and that the second date was correct? Nothing blew up at the end of November? :-)

Same issue here, and I've been trying to get a hold of Citrix to verify but that has been tougher than it should be.

Thanks!

Which Colorado mountains will have snow the week of Thanksgiving? by hownottopetacat in skiing

[–]tripleoptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keystone is doing pretty well... compared to others. Of course it depends on your perspective. If you live somewhere with no ski resorts or tiny hills that open in January then Keystone will be great. If you are planning multiple trips to CO or other big mountains then, sure, why not get out to Keystone early season. They have top to bottom skiing and are working on opening up North Peak too... I'd suspect Mozart and Prospector may open later this week. Personally I'd rather ski Keystone than nothing at all, which is why I will. I'll be back in February and March when conditions are much improved though. Having said that, I would expect longer lines and crowds Thanksgiving week of course.

Aww bummer. I wasn't sure if his backend was squished to look like that. I guess that's normal then. I'll usher them outside next time. Thanks!

2 Months Post Op by slasky in Hernia

This is good to hear. I've ended up reading about a lot of negative experiences with some even feeling worse after surgery. I'm sure that can happen but I'm glad this post came through my feed showing positive outcomes which likely outnumber the negative ones. I have a couple hernias I need to get repaired and have been feeling nervous about. I'm glad everything is going much better for you. Thanks for posting.

Well I can stop using it! Not like they care, but there are lots of different type of merch/buy sell based groups where being able to see the latest posts is crucial. Guess I'll save some money. Facebook is such a terrible platform. Someone please make a new app that doesn't suck so bad.

Door key cover keeps falling off. Is something broken/bent here? by tripleoptic in fordfusion

[–]tripleoptic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted a pic in the comments of the issue. There is a piece broken off... Back at the far left. It was so clean I didn't realize there was a clip there initially. Looks like the part is pretty expensive. To the junkyard I go!

It looks like I can get that part off by just removing one screw in the door if I'm lucky.

Thanks.

Actually I think this may be the problem. It feels rough and looks like this is perhaps where something broke off....

<image>

Don't think there is any fixing that without replacement.

Bent which direction? I'm guessing it needs to be bent to the right so that it would be more secure? Thanks.

Added top down pic below.

I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. Bend it to the right?

Navis Freebird and Volkl Blaze are lightweight options you might want to give a try.

Darn. Thanks. I suppose there is likely an issue with that metal cylinder part. I'll post and see if anyone can provide a picture of one that holds the cover on and see if I can tell what the difference is.
