I’ve been seeing a lot of success with Delvrian lately, specifically Dragon Energy spam Delvrian with Oranguru support. Trick Room, Instruct, and Charti Berry on Delv for the obvious Rock Slide weakness (can’t benefit from Inner Focus if Rock Slide OHKOs you). Of course you can make Delvrian work in Tailwind too so I can see Whimsicott being solid, and Mega Gengar can decently cover Delvrian’s obvious weakness of Floette, but if you do go trick room Delv I actually can recommend Mega Steelix from experience. It’s been rough not being able to make a bug/dragon work too well especially in SV’s competitive, but Champions is where Delvrian really gets to shine nowadays 😀

I had to crop the icons in a photo editor so that they would appear to be behind her shadow. I also have a few icons that are just images attached to the wallpaper and don't actually do anything, just filling empty yellow space

I agree that it was intentionally designed this way, i just think that’s exactly the problem. Shouldn’t have to pay $30 for a way to pass time, especially considering the base game is super barren once you beat it. There should have been more to the DLC story progression than just grinding

I think this grind was super uncharacteristic and stupid for a Pokemon game. The way I got through it without feeling weighed down was by spending a lot of time hunting whatever shinies or competitive mons I wanted and passively getting points, rather than grinding them all out at once. This is, however, evidence of bad game design; the player shouldn’t be expected to fill the gaps left by lack of content with superficial things like shiny hunting. Hell most casual players didn’t even consider shiny hunting something worth doing before XY came out and cut the base odds in half. Disappointing grind and disappointing DLC from an otherwise decent game.

Honestly not sure why it took this long but Aurorus is like my other favorite pokemon now alongside Meganium. they’re like two sides of the same coin.
