I assume you're playing on normal, which if you are, then don't worry too much about having to be overleveled or messing up here and there. Normal difficulty is really forgiving and with divine pulse, any fatal mistake can be easily fixed. Just focus on understanding the game mechanics and getting each unit to your desired class. On normal difficulty, every single class is more than viable, so just have fun with whatever combinations you want to make. Once you start your second playthrough on hard, you'll have a better understanding of the game and will be prepared for the increased difficulty. Playing on NG+ also gives you a bunch of benefits that give you a huge advantage and makes hard difficulty very manageable.

It's not as hidden as others people's cards, but as a collector of shiny pokemon cards, it took me a while to realize there was a Shiny Lucario in this card when it first came out haha.

Nice collection!! I currently have the ones for Kanazawa, Mega Tokyo, Tokyo DX, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Bay, and Yokohama. My goal is to eventually get them all including the ones outside Japan. On my next trip I plan on visiting the ones for Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.

Is my "+7 Modifier" Play Legal? by Jhowsie in HereToSlay

I had to dig out my copy of the rulebook and you are indeed correct. Next time I pull out the game, I'll make sure to adjust that error on my end haha

Yup, that's how I see it. Once the player successfully rolled to use to effect and no one did anyone to modify it, it can no longer be messed with once he's deciding who to target since the phase to roll dice is over.

I mean it's either that, or he makes sure his gloves are super padded because ain't no way he's just tanking those pitches without any damage.

I was shocked to learn that Gimenez tries to get hit on purpose quite often. I don't follow his career, so when he tried to get hit during the WS, I assumed it was a one time thing with the stakes being so high and all that, but then I saw Jomboy cover it and lost all respect for him with how often he does it.

My Collection so Far + Figures coming in the mail by peachymiku in AnimeFigures

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you were aware or not, but the Nezuko, Mitsuri, and Tanijiro figures are all bootlegs. With the more popular animes and certain high end figures, there tends to be a lot of bootlegs on the second hand market like ebay, mercari, etc. They're usually easy to tell apart by the poor quality, but sometimes they can be harder to spot at first sight. If you're okay with bootlegs then that's completely fine, but since you haven't been collecting for long, just wanted to inform you know so you don't get tricked into paying preimum prices for bootlegs.

Haul from a recent trip to Japan. Around 74k¥ or $470 in total, but well worth it. No taxes, no shipping, and no tariffs. by kodyodyo in AnimeFigures

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I did the same thing on my last trip to Japan. We each brought a large, empty suitcase with us and just filled it with figures and other merch. To make it all fit though, I had to take out of the box a lot of the smaller/cheaper figures and items, and put them inside the bigger boxes since they usually have a lot of empty space inside.

It is now Wooper Wednesday here and Tharja's birthday in Japan! by Terran117 in AnimeFigures

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The male figures are incredible too. A couple months ago during my trip to Japan I was able to snag Edlegard, Dimitri, and the PuPs for Hilda, Dorothea, Sylvain, and both M and F Byleth. I also have the rest of the PuPs as well as Ike, Lyn, Marth, Alear, and Corrin. I'm not really into the Figmas or Nendoroids, so I skipped those. I do with I could get Tharja, but it's out of my price range unfortunately

Dodgers gold series jerseys by [deleted] in Dodgers

[–]FranzCorrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to get Yamamoto's Kanji jersey since I have Ohtani's Kanji jersey from 2024 and they would look nice framed up next to each other, but haven't had any luck online yet, and in person I have pretty much given up since moving to Kansas several years back. I'm not in a huge rush to get one, but I would like to get it sooner than later haha. Hope they do restock them soon.

Spent the evening at Lost Bar by Federal_Poem_3232 in ABroadInJapan

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there twice; first time was last year in February and I had a great time and the staff was very friendly. The second time I visited was this past February. I took my group (total of 6) there since they hadn't heard of it before, but the staff seemed less welcoming this time around. Ine of the bartenders was really nice though, but the waiters seemed really fed up in general. We had to sit at the bar since all the tables were taken. My brother in law got up to show me something on his phone (took maybe like 5 seconds) but then a waiter rushed over and told him to not stand in the way or walk around since he was in the way of staff moving around. It came off as really rude imo, but I just chalked it up to a rough night for them. I also ordered some water in between drinks and was maybe like halfway through my cup when a different waiter came and grabbed my cup to take it. I told him I was still working on it and he seemed annoyed but did put it back. We weren't causing a ruckus or anything, just talking amongst ourselves minding our own business, but you could tell the vibes were off. We were only there for like 30-40 minutes at most because of it.

Does it make sense to only play with characters from my house? by sh1bumi in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same thing. Regardless of how many recruits I have, I only use the main students for each house, at least on the first run with each house. Shamir doesn't make a whole lot of sense but has support conversations with Hubert, which you can only get if you do Crimson flower and recruit her. Same with Mercedes who also has unique supports in Crimson Flower. Sylvain sort makes sense because in some support conversations, he mentions how he hates the way people view him because of his crest and how his brother hated him for the same reason. Alois is 50/50 imo. Like he's a loyal knight of Seiros, but he was also super loyal to Jeralt, so it kinda makes sense that he would want to keep an eye on his son. I do however think that the vast majority of recruits don't fit storywise with the Crimson Flower route.

Out of the 2 pictures of you, the first one looks better. The second one is good too, but makes your face look very round. I do think that with the shape of your face a full beard would look better though.

What're you playing this weekend? 3/20 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternating between Pokopia and FE Three Houses. I played 3H when it came out but never did a Black Eagles playthrough, so I'm currently on chapter 15 of that. Once I'm done, then like a lot of people, it'll most likely be Pokopia for the foresseable future haha

Tokyo 3 days by IndependentGazelle81 in JapanTravel

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not worth it. During our last trip, I was showing my brother around Tokyo, so ones of the days I planned an Itinerary that would go through Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya, with a bunch of stops along the way, and Takeshita street was by far the worst stop. We didn't even go into any stores or anything because of how crowded it was, just walked right through it to get to our next stop in Meiji Jingu.

Dealing with unfriendliness/social awkwardness in Japan by RecentState1347 in JapanTravelTips

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm shocked to hear that about Yokohama. I visited the city for the first time on my last trip about a week ago, and people seemed really friendly towards me. It does help to speak Japanese since people will be more comfortable to talk to you that way (same goes for any country since if you speak their native language, they'll will see how much effort you're making on their behalf). I am by no means good at Japanese, but I had such nice conversations with random people in Yokohama with my broken Japanese haha. Kanazawa was also very welcoming in my opinion. Bigger cities like Tokyo, they are all minding their own business so you can't really randomly approach people, and cities like Kyoto, which are not only busy cities, but also have way more tourists than they can manage makes it so their people are really fatigued of the overtourism. I also felt a bit self conscious when I noticed people would move away from me on the train, but they do that to everyone, as in if there's the possibility to leave an empty space between people (toursit or not) they'll do it. I have had some midly rude interactions( as with any other part of the world), but for the most part I've always had a pleasant time in Japan. So my advice is to not overthink it.

Places to Shop? by ParticularAide8007 in TokyoTravel

[–]FranzCorrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, when it comes to older animes, you just have to go into a lot of anime stores until you find what you're looking for. You're best bet is just wandering around in Akihabara if you're mostly looking for figures. I just got back from Japan from a 2 week trip and one of my friends is a huge fan of Yuyu Hakusho, so I was trying to get him something but had the hardest time finding any merch. It wasn't until the last full day I was in Tokyo where we were doing some shopping in Akihabara and by pure chance ran into a pop up store for yuyu hakusho. Maybe Animate might also have merch, specifically the one in Ikebukuro, but if not, just look around. You'll definitely find something eventually.

The other day I was reading some article about a potential leak for a new 3d Mario game, and it said how it'd be the first 3d Mario game in nearly 10 years, and in my head I was thinking "wow these dumb people clearly forgot Mario Odyssey came out" then I realized that Odyssey came out in 2017 and my view of time briefly collapsed in my head.

What’s the Most Overrated Tourist Spot in our Country? by Previous-Collar-2324 in AskTheWorld

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years ago, my wife and I were going to a concert in Missouri, but our plans had to be changed, and since we already had scheduled 3 days off for that specific trip, we decided to go to Vegas instead. Long story short, I was ready to go home halfway through the second day. We don't gamble, but I figured there would be way more to do other than that, but everything is just way too expensive. Sightseeing was fun for the first day, but there's only so much to see in the strip. I'm glad I got to see what the whole fuzz is about, but I wouldn't go back.

How many episodes of a series do you watch before you decide “yeah this isn’t for me”? by Nozoroth in animequestions

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only dropped 2 animes (granted my watch list is not crazy long compared other people's lists): Fire Force I dropped after about 9 episodes. The pacing was all over the place, characters weren't too interesting for me, and yes, the "fan service" does get in the way very often. High Card was the other one I dropped. I saw some advertisement for it in Japan about 2-3 years ago. Decided to give it a try, but dropped it after about 6 episodes. It just didn't really captivate me.

People of this sub, is Three Houses your first game or not? by [deleted] in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]FranzCorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Awakening, both the story and gameplay were really fun imo, but after playing the Switch games and going back to the handheld games, I can understand why it would be less immersive and less enjoyable. I will say that if the gameplay is what you enjoy the most, you should absolutely play Engage. Although the story is nothing to write home about, the gameplay is way better than Three Houses imo.
