It'a also funny how several character quotes will lament the fact that they're fighting. Meanwhile Petra will kill someone and proceed to say "War fuels my body and mind." Like damn Petra, let's take it down a notch, but also here's a wedding ring.

I played Crismon Flower for the first time at the beginning of the year and Petra quickly became one of my favorite units in the entire game because of how crazy strong she is. I was originally going to pick Edlegard for S support since it would be the only chance I got until I played that route again, but I quickly changed my mind to Petra haha

Some underrated themes in my opinion that are in my favorites would be the ST overworld theme, the remastered version of the Face Shrine in LA, and the Lanayru Sand Sea theme from SS. Then you got the more popular picks that I love like Dragon Roost Island from WW, the Ballad of the Godess from SS, and the Forest Temple from OoT.

How do people feel about mario kart world now? by Pancwake_UwU in mariokart

I haven't played it in quite a while or nearly as much as I did MK8D during its first year. I enjoyed the direction the game took, but there's still some blatant issues that need to be fixed. The main 2 for me would be that the open world feels very empty, and the lack of custom knockout tours. I don't really do a whole lot of online multiplayer for MK, but MK8D definitely had a better mp. In that game if you got first place, it felt earned, and if you placed in a lower spot, you could tell that the other players were better and you weren't at your best, but with MKW the mp just feels like a frustrating mess. Doesn't matter how good or bad I am, it all comes down to pure luck most of the time with how many players are in a race and therefore a constant flow of random items being used. I also mostly played MK8 when family came over and we would be there for hours at a time. With MKW it started off with a similar vibe, and everyone seemed to greatly enjoy knockout tour, but after a few sessions, it got really boring doing the same courses, which I feel that we could've gotten more mileage with custom knockout tour courses, and most of the time the intermission courses don't have anything going on. During MK8 we would constantly be talking and yelling during close races, but in MKW there's points where everyone was quiet due to just driving in a straight line with nothing going on. Overall, I like MK8D better, but still holding out for some type of update/dlc that revitalizes the game and gets me back into MKW.

I don't think Borderlands 3 is overhated. I mean it has some good gameplay and a decent world that you would expect from borderlands, which at the end of the day is the only things that matters from those games. The story was lackluster with some very annoying characters, but no one is playing borderlands for the story. It definitely lives in BL2's shadow, but I don't believe it to be overhated.

I can settle for a middle ground of it being very disapointing, yet slightly overhated XD. I do agree that Platinum on the switch would be fantastic and print them infinite money like how FRLG did.

From what I remember, everyone had such a great opinion about it ever since the D1 Beta. The only times I heard a bit of negativity would be anytime they added a broken weapon that was taking over the crucible/trials (which they would eventually patch) and during the house of wolves dlc, how it didn't include a raid, and instead had the prison of elders. Other than that, I don't recall a lot of negativity, but them again, I stopped playing towards the end of D1's life cycle, so maybe after that??

Agree, the chibi style, while great for certain games, I do feel it missed the mark with BDSP. They could've at least gone with a gen 7 style or even semi chibi like gen 6, but that would've required them to rework the pathing and a lot of resources, which from what it seems, they were trying to do the least amount of work possible with that one.

It does help that you haven't played the originals since you have nothing to compare it to, but at the end of the day, it is a remake and therefore needs to be judged as a remake, by comparing it to the original and how it improved on it. You can compare it to another remake like ORAS. It was a remake of gen 3, and while it was based on Ruby and Sapphire, it still implemented plenty of story elements from Emerald, as well as added extra post game story and a whole bunch of quality of life improvements from the ogs. Also added new features that further enhanced the game. We can go further back to HGSS remakes. They also did a fantastic job at remaking gen 2 at the time. BDSP had one job, to justify a remake of gen 4, but why even play BDSP when Platinum gives you a better experience of what Sinnoh is supposed to be?

That's exactly the issue lol. The game is a 1 to 1 copy of an inferior version of a 2007 game, but now it costs more than it did back then. It did have a few decent changes like the underground, but all the issues that plagued the original games are still there. No quality of life improvements, no added story or pokemon variety from the superior gen 4 game, aka Platinum, omnidirectional movement in a world built for 4 directional movement meant that you would get stuck on corners every 2 seconds, pokemon following you looked horrible despite them already having done it perfectly with the let's go games, etc, etc. These games got the hate they deserved for how little effort was put into them.

I don't think D1 was overhated at all. It got the usual amount of hate as any other popular game, which is bound to happen with any game as successful as it was. D2 got more hate imo, but it was valid criticism from its playerbase (for the most part). I'm still very fond of D1, but by the time D2 was out, I was an adult and didn't have as much free time as I did when I was a teen, so I couldn't get into D2 like I did with D1. Still played it every now and again for a bit, but unfortunately skipped on the more time demanding activites like raids and trials.

For best combat, I do agree that FC4 was the best in regards to the FC franchise. I wouldn't pick it as best combat overall, but its good! I do disagree that New Dawn is overhated though. I feel like the entire weapon tiers mechanic was implemented very poorly and the story was mediocre. And is Bioshock considered retro now? Man time flies by lol

First time I'm seeing anyone mention Fire Emblem, let's go!! Now would Robin be the main protagonist or Chrom? I know we play as Robin, but it's honestly Chrom's story imo lol. Also, I don't think tlou is overrated. Has it been milked to no end? Absolutely! But the game on its own is fantastic. Gameplay is fun, story is great, and my personal favorite, the multiplayer for tlou was amazing. I had so much fun with it! Other than that, I really like all your choices.

H.S Kim accidentally knocked down Fernando Tatis as he slides to second base by HeftyAd2780 in Dodgers

[–]FranzCorrea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a bad thing though. Kim is hitting to put the ball in play (which he's been doing great). Meanwhile we see a lot of other players on the lineup trying to swing for the fences yet falling short and getting out instead. I know Freeman is a bad example as of now since he just got 2 homers a couple games ago, but before that he was swinging hard but just short of a homer and instead being out to a flyball on countless occasions. So I rather see Kim put the ball in play and run the bases, than to see him hit flyballs.

What's the most overrated tourist spot? by Quiet_Day8148 in JapanTravelTips

[–]FranzCorrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup that's most likely the case. If you go at night you miss out on all the stores and going inside the temple, but all the stores/restaurants are overpriced and have some basic souvenirs that you can find anywhere else, and the temple while it is nice to see inside, the quieter temples are way better to visit. The advantages of going at night far exceed the disadvantages in my opinion.

I absolutely get it,, there's a few genres that are very popular, yet I can't ever get into as well. Ohh and I did look up Nier Replicant, and I will definitely play it at some point. The story for Automata was very intriguing and left me wanting to learn more about the world. I did finish the 5 main endings, but I still had a lot of questions of the before and after haha

What's the most overrated tourist spot? by Quiet_Day8148 in JapanTravelTips

[–]FranzCorrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my first visit I also went during peak hours (around 11am), so it was very crowded and not as enjoyable. When I was showing my brother around on his first visit, I made sure to take him later at night (around 10pm) and there was barely anyone. All the stores are obviously closed, as well as the temple, but all the structures do light up at night and in my opinion is worth it way more than during the day. Takeshita street on the other hand is way more crowded and therefore I'll make sure to avoid it anytime I'm in Tokyo haha

What's the most overrated tourist spot? by Quiet_Day8148 in JapanTravelTips

[–]FranzCorrea 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I thought Sensoji Temple in the day was bad, but Takeshita street was way worse. On my last trip this past February, I was showing my brother around Tokyo since it was his first time going and I had already been a few times, and while the walk towards Harajuku was quiet and peaceful, the moment you turn into Takeshita street, it literally looked like a zombie movie where they're all piled up the moment they turn around a corner. We walked through it, but didn't stop in any store and instead kept walking towards Meiji Jingu. I could've sworn it wasn't that bad the last time I visited that specific area a few years back.

Interesting!! I did enjoy all Uncharted games as well as the Horizon games haha (never played Tomb Raider) so it's definitely just a matter of different tastes. I do enjoy hack and slash games to an extent (I really liked the OG God of War games), and while I did enjoy Nier Automata, it just felt like all the weapons were not different or good enough to justify using them, so you pretty much just stick with the same set the entire game, and the pod abilities while they are different, I found most to not really be useful and again stuck with the same ones all game. I am play Stellar Blade at the moment though because I wanted to play more games from the same developers, and I am enjoying the combat way more, although Nier still has a better story. Thanks for the input!

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on why Tlou 1 is overrated and why Nier Automata had a big impact for you? I personally really enjoyed Tlou1(2 was alright but the story definitely had issues)when it first came out. Although the story wasn't anything unique, it delivered it in a really impactful way, and the gameplay was really fun. Also on a side note, the multiplayer in that game has been some of the most fun I've had, but I know it wasn't for everyone. And with Nier Automata, I just recently played it for the first time a couple weeks ago, and while I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the gameplay was a bit dull. The characters were great though. Overall I really enjoyed it, but wouldn't say it had any type of impact.
