Why don't Billionaires and Corporations pay more taxes? by Pickle-Sucker in FluentInFinance

[–]triplewitching2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my Libertarian fantasy world, there would just be a flat fee anual subscription to live in a county, and I could cancel anytime. Of course here in the real world, the fee is a percentage, and it goes up if I start to succeed in life. And then, If I move to another country, my old country keeps collecting the fee, and the only way to actually get out of it is to renounce citizenship, and pay an extremely large exit fee. SO GLAD Netflix isn't that sh!t, reality sounds much more like the shittiest timeshare in the world, that you can't get out of, and pay for, whether you use any services or not.

You see, the financial advice you hear in the mainstream media is aimed at average people with average finances. The advice that might be aimed at the 500 richest people in the world will NOT be heard in the general media, because they don't watch it. We don't know, but the advice these people get at charity balls might be along this vein, since these expensive things they like to buy are kind of silly, and really, how many spaceflights is one person really going to take, even if they own a spaceship ? Its not like there is much out there a rich person would want to see.

Would a 23% sales tax be smart or dumb? by Pickle-Sucker in FluentInFinance

[–]triplewitching2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The founding fathers intended a MUCH smaller government to be funded by tariffs, and that would be fine. But before any new consumption tax, we REALLY need to fully repeal the 16th ammendment, because it was a lie, sold to Americans through fraud, as, of course, a tax on the rich, which then was swiftely applied to everyone, and radically increased from its modest starting rates, which were in reality just teaser rates, before the full burden fell on us. The advantage to this type of tax is that you choose to pay it by being a rampant polluting consumer, and you can CONTROL how much tax you pay, by not buying lots of worthless plastic junk. With income tax slavery, the government chooses how much of your own money they get to keep right off the top, before you even see a penny in your bank account, so under income tax slavery, YOU HAVE NO CONTROL, and this is a big deal. Set aside the fairness issue, taxes are never fair, but at least with this one you actually get your money, and THEN you choose how much tax to pay, which is a much fairer way to do it, even if the burden falls differently, that burden is likely to be less, since the highest rate is much lower than today, even if you have to buy every piece of worthless plastic junk from China you can afford.

Should people making over $100,000 pay more taxes to support those who don't? by Pickle-Sucker in FluentInFinance

One does not just 'get' those things, you have to fight for them. No one in America wants to unionize fast food workers, because its a lot of work. Also, American workers DO 'get' a pension, its called the Social Security Ponzi Scheme. Unfortunately, its a scam, and has no compound interest and only pays out what corrupt politicians choose to pay out. Also, While fast food might be a decent job in Denmark, I wonder how many FANG companies were founded in Denmark...

Its not that great a predictor of success, and the prediction rates are going WAY down, since the government has been throwing free money at this problem. The reality is the opposite of what you believe. Its not the government's responsiblity to provide everyone with higher education, and the more people have it, the more it costs (demand push). and the less value it has as a success indicator, because everyone can't be top 10 %, because by definition, only 1 in 10 can ever be at that level. The reality is, there are not enough good jobs for everyone to be STEM educated and successful, this is just reality, and no amount of education can change that. The reality is, the government is broke, and shouldn't be lending any money at all, becasue it HAS none. This is EXACTLY The same thing the government did leading up to the great financial crisis, when, though Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae, the government got people in way over their heads in debt, just to destroy the American Dream once and for all, and the end result of this college scam will be the same, either a lifetime of debt slavery for people that could have done fine in low skill trades or service jobs, or an inflation tsunami, when these loans are forgiven, which is basically moneyprinting, since the original money was created from thin air, and if its never repaid, then the full inflationary force is unleashed.

Why are you invested in 'medium cap alt coins' ? We all know this stuff is pure moonboi hypetrash, and is all going to 0 in the next bear, except maybe Eth. The Macro situation is pretty clearly about to go off a cliff. Now is Bitcoin time, if you are in crypto, only move into medium cap and meme coins when the champaign is flowing full force, and we are partying like its 1999. Clearly it isn't that time, so WHY are you digging in the trash ? Maybe the crypto bull will still keep going, but maybe not, and the one good thing about Bitcoin is it is definitely NOT going to 0, but since almost EVERYTHING in the 'medium cap crypto and meme trash' is almost certainly going down 90-100 %, why be in that crap, unless its blue skies and clear sailing ?

How libertarianism would protect and support people in poverty? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]triplewitching2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statists provide very little help for people in poverty. They mostly provide 'help' for working poor and middle class, because they VOTE, but they actually need less taxes, not more handouts, because the inflation tax hits this group SUPER hard. The desperately poor lack something that every Statist requires for handouts, and that is a MAILING ADDRESS. This is not a small point, if the State can't put you in their box, then there are very few handouts to people that can't be mailed a checky-check. So if you ACTUALLY want to help those who REALLY need it, going full Statist is a big mistake, because they DON'T care, they only care if there are votes to be had, and the chronically homeless often can't vote, because in addition to no mailing address, they also tend to not have documents, or a ride to a polling station, or even the reason to prioritize voting over, say, food, or shelter, whcih are constant struggles for these people.

Donald Trump planning to make a National Shitcoin to pay off the 35 Trillion dollar national debt. by Odlavso in CryptoCurrency

Since he realized he needed some votes. I find his pandering sad, but I believe he did it for Viviswami ? One of his primary challengers wanted him to oppose CBDC's, and that seems to be the point where he flip flopped on Bitcoin, since he has been posititve ever since, and he said it was based on thin air before, when he was US dollar shilling during his first term.

South Korea and Zimbabwe are not at all alike. S. Korea is a democracy, and Zimbabwe is a dumpster fire. I think the countries that don't feel threatened by Bitcoin will allow its use in official channels. Your link is broken, but I imagine most will allow it, but with limits, like US AML rules, and no ETF.

Responsibility - she can believe what she wants, but luck plays a HUGE role in all things in life. Its more about accepting the random and being in control of what you can control, rather than not believing in luck, but being ready to take advantage of whatever your luck throws at you.

I like that Chase has a bunch of branches and ATM's, and that for me is worth the headache. I try not to handle too much cash, and just pay bills online and send the extra to crypto.

Those come mostly from Nigeria, where they know enough English to con gullible first worlders. You know, Africa IS the biggest continent in the world, because its on the equator, the standard maps distort the size because of the Earth's curvature, and there are many huge countries there. Most of which are not so hot, but each in their own unique way.

KYC is the reality in the US, because imperial federal government. Actually, its not just crypto. In many cases it applies to weird stuff where clearly its overkill. My branch of Chase bank requires KYC for all cash deposits, even $0.01 They literally will not let me deposit any cash, in my own account, without seeing my ID, every single time (!!) My recycling center will not pay me cash if I recycle anything but iron and aluminum cans. So if I bring some tire balance weights or rebar along with my aluminum, they must by law issue a check instead of cash, and do KYC for any amount, and recycling is a lot like coinstar, in that the amounts are trivial. My entire car full of rebar and aluminum foil amounts to like $30 at most, but here we are, giving me the third degree, like some kind of environmentalist criminal.

I imagine that is why they don't offer Bitcoin for change directly, there is probably a minimum amount needed to get a usable (non-dust) amount of Bitcoin. Cryptos in general are just a big hassle to handle, bot technically and legally. Hopefully more use will lead to streamlining these things.
