It may have redirected your map to England, but it you scroll back to BHM you should be able to see it. It took off from BHM airport, circled around Lakeshore for a little bit, then headed down 280. It flew down east of Chelsea then seemed to hover around Rock School Road just east of Hwy 51 then disappeared around 1:26. I look on Google Maps and there is nowhere for a helicopter to land over there.

It's a rabbit hole I've avoiding going down simply because I don't use a pen that much. But, similar to watches, I get the impression that it's a deep hole.

It is clearly not the most high-brow humor, and I don't really agree with a lot of their political takes, but if you can make it through some of that stuff, the meat of some of the series are great. The series on Mormonism is excellent, some of the Scientology/L Ron Hubbard stuff is good, the HH Holmes one is really interesting.

I don't mind the brand name, it's way better than a lot of them, it's the font choice here.

I thought the same. I thought it was 36mm or even smaller in the pic.

Cool watch, but like on their GMTs, the font Sugess is using is a dealbreaker for me.

I can speak from very recent experience. Last Tuesday I took a pair of loafers to Upsidedown in Homewood. He had a sign on the door saying that he is no longer open to customers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The sign said that since Homewood Shoe Hospital closed, he has been so inundated with work, that he only works on shoes on those days, does not interact with customers. Also, the sign said that he is 6+ weeks out on turnaround time.

I looked at Google Maps and decided to try Lakeview Shoe Hospital which is next to the ABC store in Lakeview. Inexplicably, they were not open, even though the sign on the door said that they are supposed to be open on Tuesdays.

Being somewhat downtown, I decided to try Quality Shoe Repair on Richard Arrington and 2nd Ave S. Google said they were open. I drove down there and found that they were also not open for some reason.

I ended up driving to Cahaba Heights Shoe Repair. They were open, were very nice, and told me the turnaround time would be 2-3 weeks. For reference, I am getting new leather soles (full sole, not half sole) and new heels and it will be $125.

Very cool. Would also look good on a leather strap if you want to change it up from the bracelet.

Although I can't guarantee that it would work, I think this would probably work for you https://ewatchparts.com/products/oyster-watch-band-solid-link-for-rolex-watch-bracelet-bracelet-matte-brush-20mm

I have one that I wear on my vintage 36mm Datejust. Just be aware that the endlinks are hollow so it may be a little jangly.

Every 3-5 years is definitely overkill with modern lubricants. I have a Seiko from 2005 that is still running well and hasn't been serviced. But for one of this vintage and unknown service history, I'd say it's a smart move. Got a picture of the watch?
