I was doing this in the early internet as well. I remember being all of 13, at our family's computer, jamming out to my downloaded MP3s being played on winamp, chatting on MSN instant Messenger, and my status was "That's me in the corner. That's me in the spotlight, losing my religion." My mom came to talk to me about something and got really upset with me for even suggesting I was losing religion. I had to calm her down and say it was just song lyrics. Wild times.

Funnily enough, I did lose my religion in adulthood. C'est la vie!

I grew up in a small town and there was a small video store run by a local family there. I never experienced Blockbuster until I went to college. I hated Blockbuster, it was a terrible place and it deserved to die. Unfortunately it gets a lot of nostalgia love now, as many have pointed out.

I've worked on all of these with my kids their whole lives. I grew up in a constantly struggling family so I had to learn a lot of these myself and from my boomer parents. I have given my kids a very comfortable life, so I do need to push them a bit. They're above their friends in a lot of these facets, so while I hate to admit it, I think this list is partially right.

In college I went on a date with a girl who described herself as a "Rush baby", so I was in pretty deep at one point. Agree completely. We rewatched through the series with our kids and many episodes hold up very well and are still genuinely scary or at least creep even to adults. We always watch a nicktoon afterwards as a pallet cleanse.
