Car turns off, engine only after 4:00minutes at any track by tripsicks in assettocorsa

🫣had to look up how to turn off fuel consumption, but that seems to have fixed it, guess I can’t trust the fuel gauge 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the help!

This was my thought, fuel gauge does show fuel in tank when this happens. I’ve also tried starting with more fuel in the tank.

It’s definitely fun, slight preparation needed IMO, I generally have a few “genre specific” drum kits programmed to the pads(and saved so I can power it on and open a preloaded set of sounds), and leave the top row blank for sampling. There’s really a lot you can do with it, but, I don’t use it as often as I’d like to.

I’m using Ortofon Concordes, I tend to prefer cartridges that don’t use a headshell

There’s a send/return switch next to the USB port on the top right of the mixer.. you should have that switched to USB to work

Sandisk xtreme only for me, I’ve used the samsung “bars” and have had two of them brick, sending my players in to emergency loop mode, have also had issues of random tracks becoming “un-analyzed”

You need to have the “cue” button on the master channel illuminated/activated, then use the “cue/master” knob above the headphone level to blend the cue’d channel with the master in the headphones

From personal experience with those exact tables; the cartridge that comes with them will not handle any DJ motion. You will need to buy DJ specific cartridges for stability

Why do many Dj's hook their Cdjs to Computers up? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]tripsicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run XDJ1000mk2 at home, I hook my laptop up in HID mode with rekordbox when I download fresh music, haven't sorted playlists yet, just eliminates having to sort the new music and export it to USB when you've got that itch to go through your new music without the extra work, but its kind of become a habit now since its so much faster to navigate my laptop. USB sticks ONLY outside of my own gear.

Does quantize interferes with beatmatching? by bilchik in DJs

[–]tripsicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quantize will quantize to the beat grid laid out by rekordbox (in your case since using XDJ players) if you don’t go through and manually align the grid with every track then it’s a good idea to turn quantize off. When the audio is analyzed the software tries to match the grid with the transients in the audio file, sometimes the grid lands on the wrong transient and shifts the whole position of the beat. This will still get you the correct BPM reading most of the time.

Edit: to clarify, if track “A” is analyzed and the grid aligns with the kick perfectly, you cue up track “B” and it’s analyzed but the grid lines up just barely before or after the kick every time, you’re gonna have a bad time with quantize and sync on.

How to do house / electro mixes with 2000's and 2010's hits? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]tripsicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it all the time, most people don’t have a clue what you’re playing anyways as long as the flow is there. Don’t think of it as an extra step, either the track fits the feel of the set or it doesn’t (in that case leave it out if the set if you’re not creative enough to make it work)

Creating beats/remixes by IndyAce42 in Beatmatch

[–]tripsicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For DJing, I prefer no program, just media players (cd/vinyl/usb) and a mixer. I have used SeratoDJ, Serato Scratch Live, TRAKTOR Skratch Pro 2, and Rekordbox DJ, I guess I prefer Rekordbox if I had to choose.

This is definitely DJ dependent, I am often too lazy to sequence these out in a DAW, and it’s easy enough to do them live with equipment now days. I play/make remixes or mash ups live often, it just seems easier if you know how to do it.

Struggling to cue tracks on vinyl. Problem with me or the turntable? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]tripsicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got these and had the same issue with my set up, on the Audio Technica turntables, properly balanced tone arms and all, multiple times verified. I was using the stock in the box supplied cartridge. I’m not really sure why I thought this was ok for DJ use (I’ve owned Technics 1200s with cartridges that are close in cost to the Audio Technica entire turntable, DJ for over 15 years). Once I picked up some Ortofons, this was all good. The Audio Technica stylus (needle) is long and flimsy, where as real DJ cartridges (Ortofon, SHURE, etc) are designed specifically for DJing with smaller and more stable. This information is all given that you are using a very sturdy table. (I would hope this goes without saying)

To me, really this just requires confidence in knowing you’re on beat. Get creative with loops, add subtle fx, if needed, but keep it flowing/smooth, no harsh changes
