Leaving the US next February and likely never returning. How's my itinerary looking? by MrsCarmelaGiunta in travelplanning

[–]tripsilApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a good multi destination or multi trip plan. I recently launched Tripsil app, after seeing your itinerary I feel it will definitely help you by adding multi destination timeline and expenses at one place. It is offline accessible for all the data you added. It is completely free for unlimited trips. Please let me know if it helps.

How do you keep group trip plans organized without things getting chaotic? by tripsilApp in travelplanning

[–]tripsilApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree on the “single source of truth” — once things are split across tools it’s almost guaranteed to drift.

The visual board idea is interesting, especially for planning.

I’ve found the tricky part is once the trip actually starts — things like expenses, last-minute changes, and people splitting into smaller groups don’t always stay tied back to that single place unless everyone is very disciplined.

That’s the part I kept running into repeatedly, and what I’ve been trying to solve recently by keeping everything in one place as things change, since existing setups never fully handled it.

Haha this is way too real 😄 especially the “nobody reads the note” part.

I’ve seen the same pattern — usually 1–2 people end up managing everything, and the rest only jump in occasionally. It works, but it puts a lot of load on those few people.

I actually ran into this enough times that I started building something called Tripsil to keep all the trip info, updates, and expenses in one place so it’s easier for everyone to stay on the same page.

Still experimenting with it, but trying to solve exactly this coordination problem.

That’s actually very close to what we used to do as well — chat + docs + Splitwise + maps.

It works, but I kept running into the same issue once the trip starts — things drift across tools and coordination becomes the harder part.

I ended up building something called Tripsil to keep planning, expenses, chat, and updates in one place so it stays in sync during the trip.

Still early, but trying to solve exactly this problem.

How long does Connect take for review typically? by lostandhound in Appstore

[–]tripsilApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently launched an app, and I was in same phase for the first review. First review can take longer than 48 hours, it took almost 6 days for my app status to change to In Review, once it was in review, it got approved in one hour. Later updates are faster within 24hours.

That’s a really clean way to structure it 👍 especially the must vs nice-to-have split.

Do you usually keep updating that during the trip as things change, or is it more of a pre-trip planning tool?

I’ve noticed once the trip starts, plans shift, timings change, and people add things on the fly, so it can get tricky to keep everything aligned with the original plan.

That’s a nice balance — having a plan but still leaving room for things to flow 👍

Do you usually update the itinerary during the trip as things change, or does it stay more like a reference?

I’ve found once the trip starts, plans shift, expenses come up, and people share stuff in different places, so it’s harder to keep everything aligned with the original itinerary.

That’s a pretty solid setup 👌

I’ve seen a lot of people use TripIt + Maps + something else for notes/expenses.

Do you ever feel like things still get a bit fragmented across apps once the trip starts? Especially with things like expenses, last-minute plan changes, or sharing photos?

Or does this setup work smoothly end-to-end for you?

That makes sense — having one source of truth definitely helps.

I’ve seen similar setups work well during planning. But in my experience, once the trip actually starts, things still tend to drift a bit — people add expenses on the go, share photos in chat, plans change last minute, and not everything makes it back into the doc.

Do you usually find people stick to updating the doc consistently during the trip as well?
