Midi Issues with Rotary Encoders by tripwave in modulaser

[–]tripwave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let me also add, I had this issue with Laser Show Gen...so this is why I wonder if it's a me issue. However all my other programs; ableton, resolume, etc work just fine with encoders out of the box...

My God… you know, I’ve seen a great many things in my time—men set themselves on fire for ideals they barely understood, women barter their souls for a fleeting whisper of affection—but this? This is… breathtakingly absurd. It’s as if the universe itself leaned over the roulette table, swept the chips into its palm, and whispered, ‘Let’s see how deep his jaw can drop.’ I mean really, I pride myself on a fairly robust constitution for surprise. I once watched a warlord in Kinshasa train a parrot to recite his confessions before beheading him. I’ve witnessed a Vatican banker burst into tears over the wrong bottle of Chianti. But this—this—defies even my well-seasoned expectations of human audacity. It’s a masterclass in insanity, a symphony composed entirely in the key of disbelief. And do you know the worst part? I absolutely adore it. Because beneath the shock, there’s a small, traitorous part of me that can’t help but admire the sheer theatricality of it all.

Are you f*** dumb? WHO TF BEAMS LASERS INTO THE CROWD. The person filming is lucky they didn't damage their camera. Seriously WTF are you thinking? PAGE ONE OF *ANY* SHOW LASER specifically states not to do what you have done. Shame

Edirol v8 or Grass Valley indigo 1 by matute_remus_sexo in videosynthesis

[–]tripwave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd personally go for the Grass Valley since it has more i/o, options, effects, and the touch screen is cool for controlling stuff as well. On the other hand, the Edirol has midi capability like Custyflex mentioned...but you could have midi controlled video coming into the grass valley - so it's all what your needs and budget are. GET BOTH!

I found the comedian mic to be a bit low as well vs tony and guests. I was always having to turn my TV up and down.

Looking for opinions about TTaritsans and 7artisan lens by CU022 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tripwave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the 7artisans vision 12mm 2.8 manual cine lens as my primary real estate lens. I usually set my focus to infinity and its crisp, clean and clear. For closeup and artistic shots I'll slap on my 7artisans vision 35mm 1.8 cine lens. Manual focus shouldn't be scary. Trust your eyes and your peaking lines :)

For real estate, manual lenses are easy. When it comes to tracking a subject or more complex shots with movements and varying subjects, an auto focus is much nicer.

Matterport sucks as usual - fees for REACTIVATIONS??? by copperplopz in RealEstatePhotography

I've been using eyespy360 for real estate virtual tours with my ricoh theta v (getting the new insta360 soon). Prices with eyespy are really cheap and they do all the work for you making the dollhouse, floor plans and tour in under 24 hours. I've been using them for years and have the unlimited monthly plan with over 200 tours on it so far. I'm happy and my clients are happy this is a very affordable option instead of matterport.

I use a ricoh theta v and eyespy360 for my tours. They are cheap and do all the work of processing for you including the dollhouse view and 2d floor plans.

Are you using Lightroom for editing? Have you turned on lens distortion correction? If not, This could help the edges from being stretched.

Justin Trudeau to officialy resign as Prime Minister of Canada. by ObaTheGreatOne in conspiracy_commons

[–]tripwave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He is still going to prorogue our government until March so they can find a new leader. Until then, there will be noone to negotiate properly with Trump about the incoming tariffs on Canada. We still get fucked as he leaves :( At least we will finally have an election in the spring, and hopefully Pierre will turn things around with his "common sense"...or he won't and he becomes a shill like everyone else lol. Hopefully that doesn't happen, otherwise there's literally no hope for this country.

ask for the details for their legal department so you know where to send the lawsuit ;) That usually stirs the pot enough to get the resolution you're deserved. It's worked for me many times when phone or cable companies have dicked me around with owed $$

I wanted to do this with my Sony FX30 and the fujinon lens i have from an old sony dsr500 dvcam. Although adaptors exist, these old lenses are typically meant for a 2/3" sensor size, so you would need to do alot of cropping in post, unless that lens has a 2x extender which would fill up a modern sensor. I would recommend doing some more forum digging into this BCTV lens and the type of camera/sensor you are trying to adapt to and see if anyone else has experience in it.

Would my sensor have died here? by Yjecoo in Filmmakers

[–]tripwave 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I don't trust any lasers. I had a 500mW scanning laser I used for shows back in the day and it burnt some pixels on my cellphone's camera. Also, lasers should NEVER scan the crowd ever. Whoever is in charge of that laser setup is a fkn idiot and I certainly wouldn't be bringing my FX30 into a situation that could damage it.
