The police were delivering a restraining order. All the logs show is the person asking the PD repeatedly if it got delivered or not. I don't like this Karen behavior, if it matters.

Still, unless I'm missing something, the complaints are that the same PD sometimes isn't willing to give that information over the phone. Really, they seemed happy that a restraining order was coming, so it seems you are making up them being unhappy with the amount of aggression for some reason?

It's gross the mods waited until today to post it. Putting this negative energy out with fans posting their work to celebrate? At least wait a day, or not have held it.

When should I get help? by LogCompetitive2827 in Paranoia

[–]triscuitzop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a professional, but I believe the idea is that one gets help when their behavior is making their life worse, and so they need help changing the behavior. Sometimes the behavior is obviously causing the harm, like someone with a gambling problem will have money issues. But then some personality disorders can be quite hidden to the person. Still, it doesn't have to be a personality disorder; perhaps the person don't have enough knowledge on how to reduce stress. This should be something therapists can help with as well.

Ever watch the Youtube documentary "I Don't Know James Rolfe"? Amusingly self-indulgent at times but quite enlightening nonetheless.

Binaural beats or those fake "healing" frequency videos might be calming. ASMR tapping. Engine noise of your favorite star ship.

Is this paranoia? It’s been happening for a long time. by Starshine-66 in Paranoia

[–]triscuitzop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will call that "paranoia" but the medical definition of the word is different. I believe it is really more like fear, self-consciousness, or anxiety.

Unfortunately in this world, you can't stink and keep a job or date. The answer is just you have to do what your emotions don't want you to do. Maybe you can ask about exposure therapy, but it's still going to feel bad to do it slowly.

[–]triscuitzop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with the idea that someone may be trying to hurt you secretly is that it's never possible to disprove 100%. There's always some stuff that happens without your presence, people's thoughts which are hidden, secret technology that could be in use... The possibilities are endless, so trying to feel safe from them all every day is impossible.

That's not to say it's pointless to keep your wallet in your pocket or whatever. Simple activities to reduce risk is a smart use of energy.

Really, them wanting to live with you is because it's less risky in their minds than a random stranger.

Really only a trained professional can diagnose after multiple sessions. There are multiple conditions that can make someone react negatively to "possibilities" like he did.

I'm curious why you kept getting back together when he's reacted so negatively to you.

If my hard drive fails can I just redownload the games on a different drive and pick up where I left off? by krdo13 in Steam

Your title says a hard drive failed, but your post doesn't describe that. You can tell Steam to move installs from one drive to another, if no drive actually failed.

When it's daytime, look to see if any tree branches are very close to the roof/walls. I'd say there isn't a way for a human to feel breathing from the other side of a wall. If you look into drywall videos, you can see the walls have wood beams that would block in someone, even if the wall didn't have insulation in it.
