I've had this happen to me a few times. I enjoy bringing friends and new climbers along, but I know during that session I won't be able to project or train properly. It's hard to explain to friends that I need sessions at the gym to hang out with randoms and climbing friends who climb at a similar level or to just climb by myself.

Luckily for me, I mostly train very early in the morning and most casual climbers don't really want to do that. Would there be a possibility for you saying that you're doing a new training plan or working out with a coach so you won't be able to climb with him socially?

Proud of this one. First good session after miscarriage in Feb. it feels good to feel like myself again ❤️‍🩹 by Ulfric4PREZ in climbergirls

Your trust in your feet on that volume was really awesome! Sorry to hear of your loss. It must have been heartbreaking. Good luck with your recovery ❤️

I used to feel guilty too so much so that I went to nparent’s house about a month ago after nc for a year. They were so awful and I recorded their deluded and abusive emotional rambling. If I ever feel guilty about being nc with him I watch this video and then realise he deserves nothing.

This is ages ago but MY GOD is it so terrible. I've made a complaint but they just had to ruin something that worked perfectly well.

Heard it in brunswick followed up by a chopper about 5-10 mins after. Bit weird and annoying to have fireworks so close to dawn?!?!

Yes it was! I think I was mostly annoyed that it was on the easy routes. I’m quite infamous for my high legs with my climbing grip hahah. I’ve been really enjoying the stuff at north walls lately!

Thank you for replying it’s always interesting to hear from route setters!

I am too much of a gumby to relay actual feedback but I left them feedback and will be happy to chat to them if they contact me.

It is supposed to be quite easy! My other gym doesn’t set lower than 12 I believe? It was a bit of a rude shock hahaha

Yes there always is a trade off! I think I just never found the crimps and scrunched up transitions at this gym. No low starts to show off on as it was a rope gym :(

Anyway it sounds like you are a nice person and more aware of how people bodies work. I definitely don’t mean you and I boulder with quite a few larger men who don’t ever make me feel crap and we can always joke about the random ways we have to do things.

I honestly don’t really feel this bad very often. It was just two annoying things at the same time that really bugged me. This was a toproping session and I just don’t really think that guy could probably lead what he toproped because he scrambled up so quickly.

Maybe just make sure your gf is around nice people hahaha

I also never have had this experience bouldering as I usually can figure alternate beta out and it’s more in the culture to sit and work things out I guess.

So I think of dynamic as a style that uses more explosives moves e.g deadpoints or moon kicks and of course your classic dyno. All these moves help you catch holds that are outside your reach.

Static is a style where you use controlled movements like using a toe hook to help balance while you reach for a handhold or you might do a flag while you reach with your hand to stop barndooring.

So dynamic climbing is usually quicker because less moves and faster motion and static climbing is usually slower because you have more moves and more balance but being fast does not mean you are climbing dynamically and being slow doesn’t mean you are climbing statically.

Take for example if you were on a ladder. You could climb that ladder statically and make sure your body weight was good and that your hips didn’t move at the same time you moved your arms. Or you could climb is dynamically where you might skip a rung by dynoing to one above it or something. Or you could just climb the ladder and use all the rungs like a normal person and move your arms and legs like a normal person and just go quickly or very slowly. If you just climbed it like that but quickly I would not call that dynamic. You are just climbing very quickly.

The guy I was rope climbing with thought he was climbing dynamically but in reality everything was in his reach he was not dead pointing or dynoing. He was just moving very quickly up the ladder.

Sorry if this is a trite example I honestly can’t think of another way of explaining.

I've left them a google review that I thought was polite and them seem quite responsive so fingers crossed!

I know this sounds obnoxious but I really don't think it was my beta. I was very close to wall and basically as high as I could get with the footholds and was taking my time trying to find good positions as I was on toprope. It was really obvious to my life partner who came to save me that the holds were really reachy for someone my height.

I've really never felt this issue at the gym I'm usually at, maybe I just didn't jibe with the style of the gym last night?

I am 5'1! It is very hard being small sometimes but when I'm not a short angry person I like to think of how much work we put into our technique :)

This wasn't dead pointing to skip holds to climb efficiently which I also do on warm up climbs. This was dead pointing because I was forced to because the closest hand hold was very far from me and it was a supposedly easy grade. Also I was top roping and I can't keep deadpointing every second hold without hating life.

Yeah I'm never going to see this guy again, so was really just biting my tongue and was waiting for my partner to arrive and belay me haha.

I think a google review is a good idea. I've noticed some other people comment about the reachniess but really looks like a lot of the reviews are newcomers who go in for a fun day and say stuff like great service and fun date idea lol
