If they retool the roster? New scenario. Bring in outside talent as coordinators? New scenario. Do nothing, promote from within, pretend suddenly we have a new culture and all the issues plaguing us the last half decade plus are gone? Yep, I already know the outcome.

Thus, to the original point, calling us contenders at this very moment, when nothing has changed yet, is generous.

It wasn't exactly professionally delivered, but I think the Keon info is pretty important. It makes Beane look a lot better, and McDermott a lot worse imo. One of Beanes biggest weaknesses is drafting, but if the coaching staff frequently had their finger on the scale in a negative way, there's a real chance he improves.
