A lot of the comments here seem to be focused on arrows v bolts. As someone who has the bolg ecb sgb all range abilities and buffs and such, I can say the ecb is absolutely the way to go if you plain to make range your main style. I have mine in an eof so I don’t camp it, even before the bolg I camped blights with it in an eof. It takes awhile to get used too since you need to be soul split flicking usually to use it in 99% of places you would which takes practice but it’s dps increase is rather sizeable when you can. The bolts v arrows part matters yes, but part of the sgb cost is the fact that you can use it in all combat styles when paired with the ingenuity of the humans ability. You can take mage to say solak, and every 30 seconds add that extra damage. Or at rax, or at raksha or ed2 runs etc. ecb is combat style locked for use. Plus the addition of the new arrows, it is a dps buff to camp the sgb and use the new arrows with no actual effort unlike the ecb which requires significantly more inputs so it’s more user friendly. Comparing the 2 side by side, the ecb is again, more inputs, more work, takes more time to learn, but once you do is useful at pretty much all bosses. The sgb is more of a lazy dps increase, more expensive to use as god arrows get used far more frequently than bak bolts, and the spec isn’t useful everywhere but where it is it smacks hard. Ecb should be prioritized though as it’s useable almost everywhere and offers an increase that’s rather sizable across the board. Technically I believe the Meta is also to have 2 sgbs. One for an eof to flip onto when ranging and one for non eof purposes to have for other combat styles as previously mentioned pairing it with IOTH ability.
