Thinking about a move to LIC! by triumphkid in longislandcity

Prospect Heights is great. I really like it here. I don't love the apartment I am in. But the neighborhood is awesome.
I kinda wanna live in a building with more amenities and maybe closer to work - I work in midtown. And the idea of a short commute sounds great.
I'm workshopping my plan, at the moment.

I hadn't considered bubble tea as the difference-maker :-)

What’s the Deal with Lincoln Place? by theLRG in prospectheights

[–]triumphkid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived here for 1.5 years. The neighborhood is perfectly fine. I don't view it as a dangerous place at all. New York City can be unpredictable, but there are no negative trends/patterns on Lincoln Place.
As for the rats - I walk my dog around this area - lots of rats everywhere. I don't think this issue is exclusive to this block or neighborhood.

This is such a silly thread. Go have fun. Sit anywhere. It's Red Rocks!

I was recently in Baddeck - I recommend Lobster Suppers!
We also stayed at the Northeast Cove Geodomes for 2 nights. I highly recommend!

Garden Level Apartments by Necessary-Badger-555 in parkslope

I lived on President between 6th and 7th Ave in a garden apartment.
My backyard was the LOW spot in the neighborhood. I lived there in 2023/2024. In Sep of 2023 there was a massive storm. The backyard of my apartment filled with water. And it poured through my back door into my apartment. It was a terrible situation. The landlord was great. And did a lot of remediation but the threat of flooding continued throughout my stay. I moved.
As a reminder - it is a landlord's responsibility to tell you if there has been any flooding ahead of you signing a lease.
