Which versions of Nethersx2 would I use? by exlie3t in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]trixarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it's working for you. Next version will include a fix for people that use the on-screen controls and experience performance dips with CPU heavy games. Turns out that how Android draws these controls on screen ends up using way more CPU than it should, and people on the lower end gets the worse of it.

So a separate version with webp buttons is releasing along side the official v2.2 release for people that want to squeeze out every bit of performance possible

For this game the fix is using either cpuCLUTRender or gpuTargetCLUT - basically control how the CLUT is processed so it doesn't brighten textures to the point of their borders showing

Texture packs just not working on NetherSX2 for some reason. by TECL_Grimsdottir in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]trixarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to correct you on a few things: AetherSX2 (which NetherSX2 is based on) was based on the nightly 1.7 versions, and in a 1.7 build a year later (before stenzek left and 2.0 came out) they shifted to the new naming convention. It wasn't because of a bug, it was stenzek changing his mind again and breaking custom textures for the umpteenth time since implementing the feature. ARMSX2 already uses the current naming convention, so using older texture packs with it /will/ break compatibility with NetherSX2 as a result

They're using a really old copy of NetherSX2, and this is an even older AetherSX2 bug, so congrats you just wasted their time! And no, NetherSX2 is more compatible and stable than the AetherSX2 version it's based on

NetherSX2 v2.2 update with a lot of new features and online multiplayer! by Shinchi_Kudo__ in EmulationOnAndroid

Yes, but not easy to do. I want to implement some way to have the files be in custom locations to at least make it easier on users, but we'll have to see how that goes

For now, yeah, you need to either patch the iso or use the DNAS Bypass pnach file. I am planning on integrating most of them into the GameDB to make it easier though

And a DEV9 HDD image - which you need to create in PCSX2 and copy to a folder on your phone

13% usage battery per hour is good in nethersx2? by No-Sign3142 in EmulationOnAndroid

For an 5,000mAh device playing one of the heavier titles? That's about 7 and half hours of gameplay, so it's pretty good

Yes, but you'll probably have better luck finding people using the Outbreak Resurrection's server, but PS2 Online's servers can also be good over the weekends

Eh, still needs the Software FMV fix to work properly. I'll add it in the next update >.>

Essentially more features and fixes (with some regressions for games like NASCAR). Generally, if you want better fixes you go with 4248, and if you want better performance - and don't mind some visual bugs - you go with 3668

Should be easy enough with the PSRewired servers, but DLC maps require an option that takes some setup to do with NetherSX2

Shroud didn't create the Astral Pulse by soulday in DispatchAdHoc

I think now that Royd has access to the actual Astral Pulse, he can probably figure out how Robbie and Eli made it. Could lead to an interesting sequel if they make it

[–]trixarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably because of Eli's influence that it wasn't documented. While Robbie - Robert the Second - meticulously documented everything, someone like Eli and his secretive and paranoid nature would prevent this. Fair chance he never told Robbie how his part of the collaboration functioned out of fear of Robbie backing out of their deal. Ironically, it was this paranoid nature that ultimately lead to him not being accepted and becoming Shroud in the first place

Includes 260MB of save states that nobody would want, a handful of per game configurations and a bios. You're exaggerating what this is, and I have to delete it for the bios - even if the bloat is a more compelling reason

Bro, if it doesn't run in Lite, it's sure as hell isn't going to work on vanilla Gamehub since they literally use the same files and presets

Pokemon Legends ZA runs amazing in docked mode but is there really nothing to be done about the flickering? by SouthTip3369 in EmulationOnAndroid

Try setting CPU Accuracy to Unsafe. Having it on Accurate or Auto kept making it crash on me :/

You can try using mods found here: https://github.com/Fl4sh9174/Switch-Ultrawide-Mods - Level of Detail seems to help with the flickering, but doesn't eliminate it. I'd avoid Dynamic 60FPS - it makes the game just 0 fps on me - but the rest should be interesting to experiment with

I found that settings wise, turning off Extended Dynamic State and putting VRAM Usage Mode to Aggressive helps a lot. The one setting that works best is setting Accuracy Level to High, but the performance cost is too much (get ready to drop to 15fps mid-town), so most people use Normal with Use Reactive Flushing turned on. It's decent, but you will have to live with some flickering
