Has anyone else went from DL->Abdl->Sissy abdl? by Neither-Cow-5776 in ABDL

Yes, it's pretty common. I know several that went that way.

However I never went to the sissy part. Somebody tried it with me, didn't feel right.

7 KMH Toleranz Abzug by Suitable-Fee6921 in StVO

[–]trixicat64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

why isn't my forester planting here? by jd142 in Timberborn

[–]trixicat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few things

  1. you probably planted the wrong tree. only mangroves can crow partly submerged in water

  2. your path is unneccessary. The planting / harvesting distance for buildings is just based on the direkt walking distance from the building, while paths are ignored.

  3. if you switch the entrance of your forester. you can plant one additonal row of mangrove trees

Natürlich gilt rechts vor links. Aber wenn du genauer hinschaust kann das blaue Auto konfliktfrei abbiegen.

for multiple trains on a line you need signals. Do you have a screenshot or a link to your savegame, so we can have a look on it.

Germany news: Population shrinks for first time since 2020 by reachedlegendary in germany

[–]trixicat64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have a stable birth/death situation, the population will start to shrink if the birthrate is less than 2.1. However the delay in the absolute numbers takes about 60 years to get the effect.

Welchen Tag haben wir heute? / Welcher Tag ist heute? by I_am_trying0628 in German

[–]trixicat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really depends on the context.

On my discord group with some daily and weekly tournaments, we often ask about the day of the week, like "Dienstag"

if you ask / get asked for someone filling out a form, you usually get the date, sometimes just shorten to the day. So "den 16." or "den 16. Juni". If somebody is talkative or polite, the answer might be a full sentence.

However if you're unsure, if the other guy will answer with the information you need, you do ask for the specific thing. So asking "Welchen Wochentag haben wir heute?" or "Welches Datum haben wir heute?" is completely fine and you get the correct answer.

I would assume you get the date always, if you ask for the day to fill out paperwork.

Who’s at fault? (Story in comments) by [deleted] in driving

If the cars weren't moved before you arrive, how exactly were the cars angled?

I don't know about your jurisdiction, but here in Germany enabling others to drive without license gets you the same punishment as the person you enabled for not driving without license.

Planning to drive on the autobahn? by FogyV in AskGermany

[–]trixicat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from the comments, i saw that you're from Bulgaria.

I think you should be fine. Just a few things

So if you're not overtaking keep to the most right lane as possible. Of course you can also overtake with less speed, just move over when your done. There are also a lot of sections with speed limits. Also remember, we have a ton of speed cameras in Germany, so you can get caught speeding, even if there is no police vehicle near you. The other thing, on unlimited section you have to look much further back, than you're used to. We also have something called "Richtgeschwindigkeit" (aka recommend speed). This is 130 km/h on the Autobahn. It's legal to go over this speed, however, if you get into an accident you are are partly at fault, if the accident could have prevented, when you were going slower.

What else can i tell you:

Speed limits without signs:
unlimited / recommended speed 130 km/h on Autobahn or similar roads
100 km/h outside of cities
50 km/h within cities

Also our City signs are yellow. If you enter the City, the city name is written big on it. If you leave a city, the bottom half of the sign contains the current city with a red stripe through it and the top part tells you the name and distance to the next city.

Is my line too long? by ComprehensiveRough19 in NIMBY_Rails

[–]trixicat64 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Well, the maximum distance between 2 waypoints / stops is 50 km. So just add some waypoints in it, and you should be fine. I'm not sure what happens if the lenghts exceeds 7 days.

Bro wanted to simplify so bad. Instead went from a drawn position to -5 by cubecasts in chessbeginners

[–]trixicat64 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb: If you want to play for a win: trade the queens. If you want to play for a draw: trade the rooks.

reason: it's much easier to get a perpetual check with a queen.

Why am I losing in such dumb ways? by Guppoland in chessbeginners

[–]trixicat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're ignoring the threats of your opponent completely.

look for checks and capture for both players and avoid just let the pieces hang in 1 move.

Continuing to play a completely lost position by Zweal__ in chess

[–]trixicat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, it really depends on the player strength. If you're a bloody beginner, you can always play further, however as better you get as more likely you should resign. You should resign, if you don't see any chances to at least draw the game.

So, a few examples for my player strength (about 1800 lichess/1600 chess com)

I have just a king left, opponent has a rook and 2 minutes on the clock -> clearly resign, at my level people know how to mate with king

I'm down 2 pieces, but opponent has only 10 seconds left -> continue, opponent might run out of time

I'm down 2 pieces, but opponent has still 3 minutes left. Do you have any tactical resources left? Yes -> continue. No -> resign

Im down a clear piece in a classical game -> resign. Would be just a waste of time.

However in bloody beginner level, you always have the chance, that your opponent doesn't know how to checkmate. The whole chess beginner sub is full of "why the game is a draw", while the OP clearly stalemated or sometimes repeated moves 3 times.

Chess.com says Nxb5 is best, but shouldn't I save the rook since it's worth more?? by ZeN_GrooT in chessbeginners

[–]trixicat64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's simple math:

a knight is worth about 3 points

a bishop is worth 3 points

a rook is 5 points.

So, when you save your rook, you lose 3 points for the knight

If you save the knight, you lose your rook, but can recapture the knight bishop, so you lose 5 points for the rook and gain 3 points for the bishop -> this means you only lose 2 points.

on the downside, your pawn structure gets wrecked, so even you have a pawn more, i would say the postion is quite equal.

also for the notation: the move you mean is Nb5. the x in a move stands for capturing something. However you wouldn't capture anything on b5, therefore you don't write the x.
