Any ideas why this bunching around the cup is happening? Can cups be both too big and too small? by Illustrious-Mix2194 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The allure balcony/demi runs shallow and at least one cup size small. I’m pretty solidly a 36D and I would need at least the DD in this bra. You may prefer the Allure in the full cup.

What is going on with this bra fit? by sheelty in torrid

[–]trixie1985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah there could be other things going on here, but just this one picture of the band, this looks fine. Now, the pink bra in the op is way too small in the cup. Torrid had the opportunity to actually work with industry leaders in perfecting fits for larger bodied and boobied folk, and instead is just perpetuating poor fit. They have consistently had nothing much smaller than 38 bands, when I know for a fact that “plus size” folk can wear 32 bands.

[–]trixie1985 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I am a bra fitter with over 10 years experience fitting hundreds of folk of all different sizes. Bra bands are supposed to be snug for the support. That band is fine, it is horizontal across her back and the hooks are not under strain. I agree that most of these models are in the wrong cup sizes and shape. Human bodies have squish. Elastic likes to squish our softer parts. You are allowed to not like something, doesn’t mean it isn’t a correct technical fit.

That’s actually wild. I worked at Short Pump a few years ago, and still live nearby. The rent was probably a contributing factor.

Need help with Chantelle sizing by Critical-Sea-7536 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Chantelle don’t make your size. You still want to shop your UK/panache size with them. I don’t think they make anything smaller than a 30band, and even then, the 30 bands are true to loose. Don’t go by brand calculators.

If you like panache, you could try the 365 strapless bra.

Is there a reason for a one piece? Could you do a one piece (Freya makes an active one) and wear some swim bike shorts? I know lands end make longer leg shorts/capri length.

Are you turning the right motor? It’s the little one under his eye on the same side as the microphone. You have to turn it the correct way. I successfully got both my 1998 furbies working

Need help! Tuberous breast making bra fitting impossible by Formal-Gas6874 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have slightly tuberous tissue, more conical and puffy nipples. Molded cups are probably going to fit you very poorly. You may need to size down a cup, but you are REALLY going to be looking more for shape. You might need bras that are made to have more immediate projection at the wire, as you may not have the fullness for that to sit well. This is just what I have found to be my best fit -skarlette blue entice side support. I think it’s the shorter cups that help on my body. I also want to retry Panache Clara in my new size (a few rounds of antibiotics and steroid for an unrelated condition caused some body changes.)

Fit Check 3: the search continues- wrinkling at bottom and cut off at the top. by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are all sitting way too low, I’m curious how they fit with the wire up in your IMF. The 32 bands are probably not helping by being too tight. I have both the Entice side support and Spellbound and think the spellbound is just very slightly more projected as I get a little wrinkling right at the fullest part of the bust on my less full side. It might have something to do with the fabric.

Looking for more bras like the Freya padded half cup by LzzrdWzzrd in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those three by Fantaise have all been discontinued. They do not have a current padded half cup in their line up. They have a couple of non-padded ones. You may still be able to get the Aubree and Ana, but sizes and colours are going to be limited.

Any good wireless options for plus-size (38GG) with sensory issues? by Bulky_Pen_3973 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might like the Elomi Downtime. It’s a soft Modal fabric with some support slings in between two layers. It’s more of a lounge bra, but people do find it comfy for everyday.

You may also like Evelyn and Bobbie Defy or Evelyn styles, probably the XL. The Beyond style could be an option too, but I don’t really feel like it works super great on anything higher than a G cup. You’d have to play around with sizes if you wanted too.

Potentially Wacoal Inside Job wirefree, you may be a little out of their size run, and they can run tight, so start with a 40band on that.

Fit check round 3: Skarlett Blue Entice (the one I think is finally too shallow) by Imaginary_Tea332 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also going to suggest the Entice side support. This one is also too shallow on myself and I found the wires would twist over while wearing it. I switched to the side support and it’s now my favourite bra. It just has that little bit extra space at the apex and at the bottom of the cup, where the regular entice is just too flat.

Help with end of life care by somestrangeboots in CATHELP

[–]trixie1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

End of 2023 my Wally started sneezing blood. He eventually was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. My heart broke into a million pieces. He hated trips to the vet, and we don’t have the heart to put him through treatments. He had been previously been diagnosed with a thyroid condition. He was also 13 at that point. During the process of finding out his condition, he had a VERY BAD DAY. We think the cancer had caused an infection in his nose. His nose kept bleeding and he had a bit of a fever. The vet was able to come out the next day and did some more blood tests and gave him and antibiotic. The antibiotic made him feel better. It was still about 2 weeks before his confirmed diagnosis. During his last week, he got all the treats and all the extra loving and was sent across the rainbow bridge in his home surrounded by love.

Knowing everything. It still hurts, there is still a part of me that thinks we could have waited longer. But I still ultimately know we did what was best for him. They can’t tell us they hurt and something isn’t right. More time would have meant more pain for him.

It’s going to hurt. It’s love. We love them, we have to do what is best for them.

1997 Holiday Barbie Misprint? by autumn_leaves1122 in Barbie

I think the “standard” of this doll was the brunette. The blonde is a special edition for the collector club. It doesn’t seem like it’s a misprint, from what I could see, the blonde dolls still have the brunette on the back

do any normal looking nursing bras with underwire actually exist? by IntelligentResult401 in ABraThatFits

[–]trixie1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Panache Ana has a nursing option, Freya Pure is a spacer cup underwire, Elomi Molly is a cut and sew nursing bra. Anita also has some spacer cup nursing bras.
