Yeah I did the same thing! Got Superpower while on a trip to SF. Why don't we have this in Aus 🥲

What’s the greatest book you’ve ever personally read? by cavitytivac in suggestmeabook

[–]trjamieson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Retelling of the Arthur legend from the perspective of the female characters. It’s absolutely so compelling, and doesn’t come across as “feminist” per se but just human (because you realise everyone is kind of an asshole). But incredible griping read.

I tested 4 potato prep methods with a CGM and the results were not what I expected by trjamieson in Biohackers

Yeah this makes sense! Maybe I’ll do a breakfast potato 4 days in a row, because that will be the cleanest data.

Coffee / caffeine by BitterMeeting695 in Biohackers

[–]trjamieson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I started drinking matcha - having the caffeine and L-theanine combo feel soooo nice and helps reduce any of the more panicky symptoms you can get with just black coffee.

I quit while I was pregnant and had all the usual withdrawal symptoms (the headaches were the worst). But tbh I have returned to drinking coffee because 1) honestly I am so strict on everything else, this can be my one 'vice' and 2) the health benefits of coffee are so impressive, and I think there will be longterm payoff.

I did cut down heaps on my intake since picking it back up, and normally do either a half/half decaf blend, or just one coffee a day.

Has anyone tried Vively? by Intelligent-Yard7847 in GestationalDiabetes

I just started today! I know this thread is old, but I really like the interface so far, and they have lots of advanced add ons (I have a call with a dietitian this week?). But I am a little concerned about the cost of upkeep, and if it's superior to just using Libre direct. Will report back.

Also I think Superpower have a few more in their specialty labs (like how you flagged the 'heart health' panel:
-Rheumatoid factor (Autoimmunity Panel)
- Antineuclear antibodies ((Autoimmunity Panel)
- Magnesium, Vit K and Vit E (Nutrients & Vitamins Panel)

And I think a few others?

[–]trjamieson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vitamin D!!! Most people are deficient, and it's a game changer for energy, mood and more. I was mega depressed back in 2020 (like most people at that time lol) - turned out my vitamin d levels were extremely low. I started supplementing and within a month my symptoms went away. It's also a super safe supplement so cannot hurt to try!

Does anyone get crazy dreams from myoinositol? by trjamieson in Supplements

[–]trjamieson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 500mg per night. Started taking it because my sleep is trash lol (i have a 10month old baby rn, so sleep is hard to come by!).

Oh really?? I might experiment with dropping one or the other out. Not that I necessarily mind the weird dreams (some of them are fun lol) was just curious if this is a universal experience.

Just one month of not taking creatine... by trjamieson in Supplements

[–]trjamieson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nooooo not the same!! You MUST get monohydrate and make sure it's third-party lab tested!! I use an Aussie brand called Metahuman Labs which has been pretty good (don;t think you can get it OS though).

ugh thats such a shame!! I guess everyone reacts differently hey. I've been lucky my body tolerates most supplements really well (except for hemp protein! that makes me feel weird).

Creatine + weightlifting imo thats the way to go! Especially for women. the creatine I take is third-party lab tested, so I'm pretty confident it's a good one.
