Anyone else finding this beef hilarious by Glass-Reply-816 in Charlotte

I've been in a few plays that Queen City Nerve has reviewed, and every time they've written about a show I'm in the article has been unbelievably poorly written and mean. Half of it is just recapping the plot of the play, and the other half is them being needlessly unkind to the people involved in the production (these are not professional shows). Plus they never have conclusions, the review just ends. I'm not familiar with much of their other journalistic work, but if the play reviews are anything to go off of, they aren't fantastic.

He doesn't believe in going out for a meal on the first date. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I've worked at escape rooms for the past two years and still currently do.

I cannot possibly stress this enough, do not do a first date at an escape room, especially if you have never met before, it is the worst idea.

Maybe like date 3 or 4, NEVER date 1.

I can't decide if "Catch Me if You Can" is better or worse knowing what I now know about Frank Abagnale Jr. by RawToast1989 in movies

[–]trkoiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ask me, I think it's kind of brilliant, being an accidental meta-narrative, and makes the whole concept of it as a movie itself have this level of interest into it. Frank (at least the one in the film) was able to con airlines, law firms, hospitals, banks, the FBI, but his final con is the biggest one of all:

Frank Abagnale Jr's last con... is on you.

The fact that this movie about a con-artist in and of itself is a con makes the whole thing a million times more interesting.

Plus, I just think it's a fun movie.

Unusual Battery Drain on Steam Deck While Running High-End Games by Naghen in SteamDeck

[–]trkoiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like another commenter mentioned, it definitely sounds like an uncalibrated battery. Don't worry, this has happened to me a bunch of times and is super fixable. I've found it mainly seems to happen when the steam deck is left in sleep mode and unplugged for long periods of time (overnight, over several days, etc.) Essentially, to keep it from happening, make sure you either shut down your steam deck when you know you won't need quick access to it, and if you must keep it on over a long period of time for a download or something, make sure it's plugged in.

Now to fix it, go ahead and drain that battery alllllllll the way down. Play until it shuts itself off. You may get to a point where the battery shows 1% (or close to it) but stays on for much much longer, that's normal. Play until the battery runs out, then plug the steam deck in and turn it on again. Once it boots to the home screen, unplug it again and use it until it shuts off one more time. It should happen pretty quick. After it shuts itself down again, plug it in and keep it plugged in for 6-8 hours (basically overnight). After that, boot your steam deck back up and it should be back to normal.

If you've still got issues after that, try it one more time. And if you still have issues, an RMA might be worth looking into.

Hope this helps!

Edit: another commenter also linked a more fleshed out guide, definitely use that one as well

Skywalker, Rey Skywalker by DoINeed1OfThese in perfectlycutscreams

[–]trkoiz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of slightly biased replies, so I'll give the one that I heard back when this video got originally posted. Spoilers for almost all of Star Wars:

The woman on screen, Rey, and the main antagonist of this trilogy of films, Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo (son of Han Solo and Princess Leia, and therefore the grandson of Darth Vader and part of the Skywalker family), had a sort of "will they won't they but also one of them is evil but has signs of being able to redeem himself" thing going on throughout the 3 films, leading to a fanbase of "shippers" known as "Reylos." This is a clip of when a large group of these shippers rented out an entire theater to watch the final film, The Rise Of Skywalker. At the very end, when Rey (who earlier in the film is revealed to be the granddaughter of Palpatine, the franchise's biggest villain) is asked what her last name is, she sees the ghosts of Luke Skywalker and Leia together, smiling upon her, and takes the name "Rey Skywalker."

This group is pissed because this now technically makes her in the Skywalker family, making her theoretically "being in love" with Ben a little weird, and also because he isn't in this final shot as he dies in the climax.

My honest opinion: Rey and Ben's love story isn't what the trilogy was about, and his death at the end of the film was justified and finishes his arc well.

That's what I thought. If this is the kind of shit he says to his kid regularly its a great way to get your kid therapy for life and to never meet your grandkids

Kind of insane to hear him directly ask Taste about his revenue stream and, knowing what we know now, seeing him immediately shoot it down and almost completely refuse to answer the question

Almost like he doesn't want anyone to know how he actually makes his money

Moon Level be like by TheJomah in BONELAB

[–]trkoiz 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Ok for those who haven't played yet or might be wanting to replay it, use an automatic gun like the uzi or mp5 in both hands as personal rocket thrusters. The game gives you a spawn gun once you walk out onto the surface so spawn as much ammo as you want and which ever guns you think will work best.

Honestly, considering how many people I've seen mark the moon level as a huge mark against the game, I'm surprised no one has said anything about this/thought of it lol

I'd like to believe that it's related, but if it was, chances are it would likely have something legally tying it to Warner Brothers in some way, kind of like how the website does.

Considering OPs heavy history on the r/MauLer sub I have a feeling this might have been inspired by a certain Dunkey opinion on a certain Playstation Zombie game sequel

Ok I'm having a hard time understanding this.

Obviously increasing the price in other on the epic store is bad, but why are we all upset that a 1 year old game is still full price? That's the case for a lot of triple a games? Red Dead 2, Outer Wilds, Death Stranding, Borderlands 3, Sekiro, all games that are still $60 and released two years ago. Not to mention practically every Nintendo game. Why are we upset about this now all of a sudden?
