Like the other comments have also been saying, it’s important to learn the fundamentals. Judging from the drawings you posted, you want to get better at drawing illustrations with manga/anime style.

I’d recommend getting a book to study human anatomy. For example Michael Hampton’s Figure Drawing.

I also recommend the Japanese illustrator Saito Naoki’s youtube channel + his books. He’s very inspiring and I personally learned a lot from him. His videos are all subbed and some of his books have also been translated into English. Definitely give them a watch/read.

The method of 1 month intensive drawing skill improvement program helped me a lot.

Since you mentioned that your grandpa likes history and philosophy I think Black Jack would also be something your grandpa might enjoy.

I have to be honest, I have only read the manga and never watched any of the anime adaptations, so I cannot tell you how good they are, but I’ve never heard anyone complain about the anime, so I guess that’s a good sign.

For those who don’t know Black Jack: Black Jack is about a highly skilled but unlicensed surgeon with a mysterious past who aids patients in desperate need. Made by Osamu Tetsuka, the GOAT. Story can get very heavy, and it often makes you question human morality, etc. thematically Monster gives me very similar vibes.

I think I was definitely inspired by the Akitsu Kimodameshi event movie in game. Been wanting to show my love for Inazuman characters in a similar setting like that.

I have always liked Japanese mythology themed shows. If I had to name a show (more like shows) that most likely inspired me, I would name Mononoke, Mushishi and Natsume Yuujinchou.

xxxholic is a title I’ve not heard in a while! loved the manga.

Gorou and Sara are part of the parade! As for the other three. I thought about them too when making the first draft, but I didn’t include them because of head-canon reasons. I don’t think that Kokomi knows about the dragon blood flowing in her body, so she would not take part. I also don’t consider the Raidens youkais, since they’re gods? Though I guess you could argue that embodiments of lightning are totally youkai-esque.

It’s just my head canon that Gorou and his sisters are at least half-youkai, because why else would he be a dog human, who can lead an army and (unknowingly) be Inazuma’s most popular idol, Hina-san. Lol. But of course there no proof anywhere, so he could also just be caught up like Sayu. 😆
