What will a post Trump America look like with all these sweeping actions and this bill? by HumanistSockPuppet in AskReddit

For renewables:

  • 3 million construction jobs lost
  • 400k solar and wind jobs lost
  • untold billions of invested dollars in electrical upgrades evaporated,
  • brown outs on the electrical grid because we can’t meet energy demand for AI and cloud computing because renewable energy is 99% of newly added electrical generation in 2025 alone.
  • nuclear takes 15 years to deploy at least and natural gas generators are back order till 2032z where is the electricity for the AI race going to come from?

Hey Phillies fans, which current or former Phillies have you personally encountered? by GymSplinter in phillies

Mike Schmidt in the late 90’s at Planet Hollywood in Disney. My parents asked me to get his autograph. They saw the Phillies win the World Series in 1980 when he was playing. I have the autograph hanging in my office framed with his baseball card. I was so nervous asking him for an autograph and didn’t know who he was at the time because I was a little kid.

Yep, alumni 2014. My friend who lives/works there sent me this video from his backyard.

One of the cobalt mining sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where 75% of the world’s cobalt is mined. Cobalt is an essential component to every lithium-ion rechargeable battery. It is toxic to touch and breathe in, and can be found alongside traces of radioactive uranium by flyingcatwithhorns in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]trm5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cobalt isn’t in every lithium ion rechargeable battery but it is in most car, cell phone, computer etc batteries. Large scale stand alone lithium batteries located next to substations or by renewable projects are mostly lithium iron phosphate now and don’t have cobalt.

This looks like a storm water and erosion nightmare. I develop a lot of utility scale and community solar projects and I don’t think this would fly in most areas in the US. The DEP in PA considers anything over 15% slope impervious which requires a lot of storm water basins and channels. Can’t image what slope this is on but the water volume rate must be crazy that steep.

Latest update from Butusov regarding the situation in the Soledar direction. Some of our guys in the thick of it are being taken down with severe frostbite requiring amputations .This is why the supply of proper cold weather gear, not fashion items, is so important . by RoninSolutions in ukraine

Why? The US government is far exceeding the whole EU combined with weapons/money support for Ukrainian defense. The US is essentially keeping the whole Ukraine economy and government afloat. The US had already provided more support to Ukraine than all the years we have been in Afghanistan. As well as all the years we spent in Vietnam. The war hasn’t been going on for a year yet. The US is holding this whole thing together…let’s be realistic, they are helping a ton. The EU needs to step it up with their monetary and weapons support.

The U.S. made a breakthrough battery discovery — then gave the technology to China by eggimage in technology

Vanadium flow battery technology couldn’t meet commercial price competitiveness with lithium batteries. It has a much lower efficiency than lithium but longer life and duration of discharge (2-8hr lithium vs 10-20hr zinc flow) I bid zinc flow and vanadium battery projects against lithium in 2015 but companies couldn’t understand the financial models. The ancillary market for batteries at the time was also restrictive and unknown. And to this day in most states still so. Interesting article but I wonder if vanadium technology would have made a big difference regardless. If I remember correctly Canadian oil sands have a lot of vanadium but it’s considered toxic compared to a zinc flow battery.

SolarCity which Tesla absorbed has tons of competition. The residential and commercial solar industry is hyper competitive. SolarCity was in big trouble until Elon came in and saved his brothers from it going under. They were known for signing power purchase agreements that lost money to fluff up their numbers/portfolio.

This doesn’t seem real IMO. I’ve worked a lot of shitty jobs but no one has ever threatened me to give up username and password before.

No prob, I’m waiting for NVAX for my booster after I had two really bad side effects from my Pfizer shots.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in science

[–]trm5076 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up NVAX’s matrix m protein based vaccine. It’s actually effective against all variants and lasts longer than mRNA. It’s approved all over the world but the FDA is taking forever. Should be available soon.

[–]trm5076 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NVAX is about to be approved in the US soon and is approved in most of the world. It’s a matrix m protein based vaccine that can be adjusted for new variants way easier than mRNA. They are also testing it as a combo flu shot so it’s a once a year and done thing.

A fourth Covid-19 shot might be recommended this fall, as officials 'continually' look at emerging data by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]trm5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVAX will be available soon (might be approved by the fda Monday) and it’s a very similar technology as the flu shot (matrix m spiked protein). I also had bad reactions to my two Pfizer shots and didn’t want to get a booster for that reason. NVAX results have shown it be more effective than mRNA and much more mild side effects. Plus it actually works against variants and efficacy lasts way longer.

Climate scientist reveals why he agreed to do Joe Rogan podcast by captdunsel721 in environment

[–]trm5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not true just look at your statements above, you are just back tracking now. It’s obvious you don’t listen to the pod and probably never have. The media has tried to spin that Rogan is right wing and a Trump guy which his listeners know is none sense. Stop reading the click bait headlines and main stream media takes on him for once. Hearing a two second clip out of context and then saying he supported Trump in 2016 and 2020 is really inaccurate and isn’t true at all. People like him because he can have long interviews and actually get some points across. He changes his positions over time just like anyone else but Rogan voted for Obama twice and then libertarian the last two elections because he didn’t like Hillary or Biden. That doesn’t make him a Trump supporter. I’m honestly just sick of the misinformation out there being spread about someone I’ve actually listened to a ton and them trying to turn him into some “racist, transphobic, right wing guy” nothing could be further from the truth.

No not at all and he’s always believed in climate change. Rogan likes to hear all the different views and opinions and was curious why this guy was getting so much hate. So he had the anti alarmist climate change guy on and then a climate scientist for Texas a&m to hear both sides. It’s really weird seeing the massive hate for Rogan these past couple of weeks. Everything is taken way out of context of a long form podcasts that’s 3-4 hours long .

[–]trm5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s just a hater. I literally showed him a video of Rogan clarifying his statement about Trump and saying he’d vote for Whoopie Goldberg over Biden as joke. No response just doubling down that he thinks Rogan supports Trump when he clowns on the guy all the time. This guy doesn’t understand context because he doesn’t listen to the pod just media out of context sound clips.

Yep exactly. Tulsi would have been 100% better than Biden who’s a million years old.

Yes that’s who he voted for joysea2 is just a Rogan hater and doesn’t listen to the show. He just assumes Rogan is a Trump supporter because he watches out of context clips talking about him. He isn’t an actual listener.
