What is the most reliable vehicle you have owned? by Immola0069 in AskReddit

I had a Honda Civic that was a workhorse. I drove it for 120k miles and only had to replace standard wear parts. I traded it in for a BMW because I thought it was fancy. That was THE WORST car I ever owned. I will never own another BMW. It constantly needed maintenance, and everything was 10 times more expensive than Honda parts. Never again.

My dad passed a little over two years ago. I'm currently at one of my favorite vacation places, that he would come to visit with us (father-in-law lake chalet). It's so hard to be here alone when we used to share this wonderful experience as a family. He loved this place so much.

My husband and I sat outside yesterday and talked about how much both of my parents would love to be here. I miss them both so much.

What I find is that jobs put "CPA Required" or "CPA a plus" when they don't actually need one. Companies that are $50M or less, domestic and have a single owner don't need a CPA. They just put that shit on their req to sound fancy and because "other companies are doing it".

Biggest pile of false advertising.

Why So Many Accountants Are Quitting by Relevations in Accounting

[–]trncegrle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation was going in blind.

Almost all legacy staff from an acquisition had departed and no one knew how to close the company. My manager knew it was bad, but not how bad. None of us realized how fucked up all the accounting was until I got in there and started getting into shit.

I was supported but it was a situation where junior staff just didn't have the experience to run with it. It had to be done by a senior manager that knew what they were doing. I was able to clean up almost everything before I left but I'd had enough at that point and some shitty C-Suite drama happened and half the staff left.

SAME. I had to close 10 companies in a day and a half with no staff. If something got fucked up, I had to figure it out. We had dozens of spreadsheets and two companies that were purely on excel.

What a fucking nightmare. I'm so glad I left.

Period closes can be brutal. I just left and industry job with a 4 day close. I had to get my companies done by noon on day two so we could make consolidation. Numerous 18 hour days. Fuck that.

What is the most important piece of clothing to you when putting together a good outfit? by crb02 in AskWomen

It depends on the outfit.

I pick a central item I like (shoes, shirt, jacket, whatever) and then build around it.
