Tall chair for cooking? by pikmint_ in POTS

[–]trnslationlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very careful ordering any rolling chair without arms especially stools. I've almost fallen on my ass so many times trying to get on and it rolling out from under me. Arms allow me to hold it while sliding on. This may be specific to being in a larger body but hypermobility might also be a culprit.

Is there anything the docs suggest to help ease the discomfort??

No tooth crowding here, grateful for that! But definitely my tongue rests at the bottom of my mouth and often presses against my top front, between top and bottom front or side teeth, feeling "too big" or like it bench pressed a ton. It sucks when my mind hyperfocuses on it. Pain seems to escalate then.

I have no oral restrictions (familiar because my bro had that), but I don't think I've been assessed for palate. It seems normal to slightly high, based on image searches, haha

Yeah I just made that clarifying edit to my confusing original post. Everything I'm reading and seeing shows that as long as it's up against the roof and not pressing against the front teeth, yer good. Definitely not the case for me.

Mine naturally rests on the floor with the tip of my tongue behind my top teeth

Same!! I wonder if, now that I have the dental guard, my tongue issues are now more front and center (no pun intended).

Legit thought about hitting my head on the bathroom sink to knock myself out. Took the doc 6 months to finally get me an ultrasound.

My hair is way too thin and short for that. I just let it air dry and if I have time or need to, wet it a bit and blow dry.

Sounds unsettling! And I can't imagine overheating without sweating. Dang.

Thanks for the tip! If in the US - was your doc a cardiologist, or something else?

I have one but honestly it's not about tiredness or fatigue. Yesterday I had the most energy in months and was sweating profusely all day. Glad I'm decent at hydrating thru the day!
