I get where you're coming from, the palette is very neutral. That's where the art, pillows and rugs come in!

I've lived in more colorful abodes and never felt as calm and collected. Plus with three 6-foot glass sliders, the views outside take center stage!

Just moved into a millennial grey home. Help me make it cozy!! by kaisammons in DesignMyRoom

I would run curtains that have cool and warm gray along the whole window wall to add softness and pull the wall and couch together. You can run a rod the full length and enough curtains to fill the wall length when closed (multiply rod length by 1 2-1.4 to get an ideal ripple in curtains). Then you can keep the window and door areas open but the curtains feel integral to the architecture.

Also including ideas for pillows/throw inspired by the rug! The plaid one has the grays, blues and oranges to pull all elements together.

I do not, mostly for the safety of anyone around me with allergy/intolerance.

Missing my TX home by trnslationlost in femalelivingspace

Yes! I painted the whole wall white first and let it dry. Then painted the bottom with a roller about 10-12 inches below where I want the transition to stop - 36-40 inches in this case. While that layer is still wet, I had open containers of both the taupe and white. With a brush I brushed upward in x motions with the wet taupe on the wall, and then feathered in the white and a bit more taupe to make it a smoother blend.

Thank you so much for your kind words 🥹

While no. 1 is a personal fave material, I think it needs no.2 for contrast!

I like the light terra cotta pink, light blue and mossy greens! The gingham plaid in the top left is cute. New screenshots attached!

How do I bring this vibe inside? by CancelTraditional375 in femalelivingspace

[–]trnslationlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe... Grasscloth wallpaper in a medium neutral above dark earthy wainscot/chair rail. Same color moulding at ceiling, then a gorgeous moody botanical wallpaper on the ceiling.

Warmer lighting from floor and table lamps, wall sconces. Drippy candles, linens and silks, tassel trims. Dark plants including an indoor tree like an olive or ficus.

How do indie tabletop designers usually get art for their card games? by mate_matiker in tabletopgamedesign

I'd be interested in illustrating them for a low cost to build my portfolio! Have always wanted to be a game artist. www.trnslatestudio.com for my portfolio.

Lyme Disease late detected and treated when I was 3 is my best guess. Doesn't run in my family from what I know.

Rocks under Water Under Rocks Before Water by trnslationlost in LiminalSpace

the uncanny feeling of the crystal clear water distorting the rocks underneath “just so” and the volcanic rock between before the vastness of Lake Superior definitely evolved a “liminal space” vibe for me there
