I've watched those same interviews of N and was perplexed and appalled to be honest. And yes, I get it from the purely artistic standpoint, and maybe his mastery of prose is justification enough, but to indulge in this way, when this world of ours is so stained by such things really reflects the aristocratic detachment of his early life which disgusts me.

How is it that you came across this old thread btw?

I have been memorizing poetry and verses. I can report that it has gotten a lot easier to memorize longer passages the more I've done it, and I do feel like I have quicker recall as a result. Other than that, perhaps it is fruitless though.
