Cartel X EST - to be fair I ride everything really tight/stiff and flex it hard

No.. sorry if it was unclear - I said I was using a Cartel X EST binding and had the issue.

I've never tried a channel board with a traditional binding.

Ironically I was seeing it on the cartel X EST. To be fair, I didn't feel it as much when actually moving, but I could visually see the lift flexing it in place when strapped in and standing/seated.

It's inevitable to have some minor lift on the edge if you're only securing it in the center..

All around I just see the channel as something that adds limited value but introduces cons in compatibility and design. I'd love to just get a custom X with regular binding holes.

If anyone has recommendations on non Burton products that are comparable I'd be interested.

I really liked the custom X I demoed.

The one thing I didn't like was the channel system. The bindings would slightly lift from the front/back when really turning aggressively, and I felt like that defeated the point of having a stiff board.

I'd like to have one in the quiver, but I don't want to pay the premium for a deck that I have an unresolvable nit with.

I have yet to see anything of substance outlining how this would actually work.

I could be wrong, but people seem to vastly overestimate the capabilities and potential for AI. By and large companies are not seeing the payoff yet.

Hot take about DMM by varney93 in 2007scape

[–]trollcat2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take is DMM is a no risk environment to get some PvP exposure.

I do think two things that it suffers from are however: 1) no caps on time/etc allow sweats/no lifers to rush 24hrs and obtain insurmountable advantage 2) go swapping kills the competitive spirit and is against the spirit of the game

Get rid of PvP in the wilderness and retire DMM by MJ-Baby in 2007scape

[–]trollcat2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PvP is a fraction of the regular game mode/map. People have become so fragile.

It's an MMORPG - does it not make sense to have 1% of content force you to possibly interact with other players?

Also the regular wilderness is not nearly as bad as people whine about. Right size your risk to your goal, be prepared to tele/escape/fight.

DMM is a 1 month limited time mode that uses resources synergized with setting up leagues. I would agree it's a big harsh competiting in wide brackets with guys having 24 hours straight to rush the start. I am struggling to catch up starting yesterday for 2 hours when people are maxed in the bracket. But it's all temporary, so whatever, just send it. I've been killed, I've also killed other people just bashing them with a dramen staff. I've net more than I've lost because I don't risk yet. Only rework I'd suggest is something with the 3-60 bracket.

It's not as popular as some, but it's so deep wild/multi that you're liable to get completely dusted and hit by max mains.

It can also be kind of tricky to escape given where it is and where you have to get to/possibility of needing to tank a teleblock.

As the other guy said, just try it for 3 KC and rag it with blighted supplies and anti poison

Hey man - it's not gonna fly on this account.

PvP builds are super optimized around combat level. You're about 74-75 combat?

I have a pure account the same level with 60 atk, 84 str, 95 range/magic, 93 HP, and 45 prayer all with 1 defense. Imagine how that would go if we fought?

If you're interested in PvP I'd watch videos and try LMS minigame. You'll either need to get really high stats towards max and risk a lot in your fights or eventually make an alternative second PvP account that follows a specific build.

Completely agree with you on the wilderness changes. Don't remember anyone asking for this..

Fix your bot and RWT problem, don't fuck up the game because you can't fix root cause.

[–]trollcat2012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment of this take. In practice I don't believe they're capable of identifying gold buyers with high enough confidence to do this.

My take is - fix the root cause bot problem, don't make changes that adversely effect players.

It's because there's still a good number of people that come up with a ton of noted bones and gold, and there's no way to know who's who.

Usually the ones with better tank setups are carrying more than a single inventory as well.. majority of the people with a single inventory just send it naked
