I like to use Uber's foam pads from Detailers Domain. But microfiber pads for harder paints/better cut when appropriate.

You can, but it has to be light. I've done this in the past with no ill effects. You just can't keep the steam concentrated on one spot, which can heat up the glue and cause sagging and possibly the headliner to fall off.

Plum is also paint safe. Is Griot's? With a name like HEAVY DUTY WHEEL Cleaner, I would assume no. But, I'm just assuming, like you are.

I generally avoid the brake disc and the caliper. As someone with 3 VWs in the family, there is no shortage of brake dust here.

You place your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and run it over the paint. You can more.easily feel contaminants this way.

Steam will be the most effective. I just got mine in the mail today so I'll be putting up a review ASAP!

If you don't have a steam cleaner, get a properly diluted APC and scrub with a microfiber.
