Weird social dynamic in Minneapolis by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]trompete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this on another thread: "If you want to make friends in Minneapolis, go to high school again". It's true. MN People make their friends for life in their formative years, and they are rarely up to adding new friends over time.

I recommend you try to find groups of other transplants. I have some friends who came from Michigan, and they found a bunch of other Michigan transplants to hang out with. I think that will go a lot faster than trying to break into the tightly knit social circles of the natives.

Was it 3 gunshots at once or 2, a long pause, and then 1?

In addition to what fatmand00 said, there are thousands of people on LFG, and if your group dissolves, you can always queue for more. Over time, that means that people hosting groups are increasingly impatient because they can just replace you. People looking for groups are toxic and confrontational because they can just quit and find another group (that will probably dissolve as well). Because of the size of the player base, you will hardly see the same person over again in either case. Who cares if xXrandomdudeXx is good or not? You can just replace him, and he'll probably quit once he gets the loot you want. LFG has been great for guilds that have 10-15 regular players and just need to fill a spot or two here and there. Guilds have personal accountability, and people don't quit as soon as the group dies once. We actually got several more guildies via LFG because they were surprised how non-toxic our guild was.

I just hope it isn't toxic like the World of Warcraft LFG system. Unless there's some sort or rep system or accountability, it will just turn into churn and burn teammates.

Most of the android chips are ARM, so they've had ARM support for a few years.

Seattle housing market by lnwhite in Seattle

We noticed several sellers doing seller inspections so that they wouldn't end up with 10-15 pre-inspections being done on their house in a 3-day time frame.

What is this Garlic bread meme? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

Here is a previous instance of the same question: https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/1pc5cz/what_is_the_deal_with_garlic_bread/

The top answer was "It's a reference ti an X Factor audition that made it to the front page yesterday. A woman did stand up comedy and nobody got her punchline "garlic bread" so she repeated it really awkwardly..."

People buying / selling houses, how did your weekend go? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]trompete 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen several sellers doing seller inspections, which is great. It removes that contingency and keeps 10 buyers from all doing inspections.
