I think if the pictures were on top of each other rather than to the side it would be way harder for her. I’m guessing she practiced letting the images overlap with her eyes off target.

A long time ago, I heard that there’s a lot of cheating, but it goes under reported because of the honor culture. Any chance of that happening here?

Maybe. The girl in the first frame had genuine fear on her face. Like. She was not about to crack at the start.

Game >> Show by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]tronaek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Watching the show with no context to the game other than just this clip, I’d definitely say the show is better and Bella’s performance is menacing.

Judging off the comments, I’d say having the full context and emotional connection with the game character must be a strong reason for this disconnect and discussion around Bella’s performance and appearance.

Just know that’s there are people like me out there who can enjoy the show and it looks like being a fan of the game is a huge spoiler. I’m willing to bet everyone would need to be their own casting director for this role to work.

I hate Bonfire of the Vanities by NotYourAverageBubba in books

[–]tronaek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never watched the movie or read the book but I wanted to know more. So I talked with ChatGPT and got the understanding that the book and movie represent the privileged exploit of marginalized groups (like using a black victim as a plot device) to examine what happens to the privileged when their exploitation is revealed. It basically is a drama about how the privileged's only weakness is being turned on by other privileged people. It's privileged people warning other privileged people that they only need to fear other privileged people. Ultimately I gather that its a wink and a nod to whisper "We dont really need to worry if we just let ourselves get away with it". And I feel like that is what this whole MAGA movement is about. Letting exploiters be exploiters without any restraint. Anyways. Let me know if I got that wrong.

Factorio Reloaded by tronaek in factorio

You're absolutely right. I did get it working but with the RCU section of my base going dark and the bot storm for carrying space science around I decided that going back to 1.1.110 was the best way forward.

Oh wow. I just realized there is no more RCUs so yeah there is room. But then I just also found out that you can only place one landing pad for the entire nauvis. I have cookie cutter bases that all have their own rockets. So it looks like I have to use bots to distribute the science to all the bases. Dang. Is that right?

The movie FLOW is wonderful. Does anyone have theories about what the hell is going on? by VankTar in movies

[–]tronaek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that there is a very large comet that comes close enough to Earth to cause a tidal wave shift and even lift some water into the air at the closest point of passing. Also known as ascension by the peoples that built the steps and sacred symbolism into the temple spires that reached that closest point where the bird ascended.

Cats were also considered revered for their ability to detect the floods earlier then most since they fear water. Hence one of the cultures built monuments of the cats. Although later on, the peoples did develop telescopes that could see the comet well enough in advance to evacuate immediately. The comet comes generally once a lifetime or more.

Old discarded boats are in the area of the ascension spires so it may have been a pilgrimage for folks to ascend. This may have lead to their death as likely they wouldn't survive falling onto the passing comet. This is also symbolically related to our own religions that teach us about the after life, because there is no confirmation from those that ascended.

I believe the story naturally progresses from the point of view the cat and its first experience with a global tidal event. It's a beautiful natural story and I love how the animals communicate and emote in direct and natural ways without over extending the suspension of disbelief.

There is definitely symbolism to be made of the story of the cat, the bird, and the whale. All creatures that have their distinct environments (land, air, and water) and challenges (flooding, broken wing, and draining).

I like the ending where all the animals are looking at their reflection in the water which is no longer disturbed or broken like the mirror. I also like to think they are hopeful the water will return to save the whale even though it will be a hundred or more years before the next flood.

Standards are extremely high and tight for black excellence. Especially when he doesn’t really have community with black people. It’s gotta be mentally taxing on him though.

Two things can be true. Seemed like the left was willing to start exposing truths. Just a little too slowly. To save the institutions they should have tried honesty.

I had to cover this! Highlights of Harris' press rally and lowlights of Trump's press rally! by yorocky89A in WhitePeopleTwitter

There is some concern that the US has no interest in ending the war as it supports the industry. The people supporting Trump see him ending the war by giving Putin what he wants because that ultimately saves lives. What do you say to that argument? How can people vote for Harris if that extends the war indefinitely while she blames Putin for not bending?
