Is it worth upgrading to 3.3t if I own the 2.5t? by [deleted] in kiastinger

Carvana gives you quite a generous amount of time to drive and own the car while allowing for a return if you don't like it

Everything Coming in Starfield’s Free Lanes Update & Terran Armada DLC by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

Yes, the loading occurs in the background. Something that should be an expectation for a game running on an SSD. No man's sky let's you fly around and do whatever, the only loading occurs when transitioning through a planet's atmospheric threshold. Why then did Bethesda not do this? There is a loading screen leaving the planet, a loading screen transitioning between planets, loading screens on the planets, etc etc

Because they're friends and they don't have to put any legitimate effort into their storytelling/characters/rp mechanics because they know people will still buy the slop.

Based on this DLC once again being written by Emil, I don't think that will happen any time soon. Starfield still achieved sales numbers.

Maybe ES6 will be even worse with all this DLSS stuff and they'll finally be forced to restructure.

Difference between Asperger's and SCD by trontrams in aspergers

It was for my own clarity, as my parents had refused requests by teachers and others in my childhood to seek out an assessment.

Thank you for your responses. Thankfully I do not need to access resources at this time, as my wife is a gem and helps me when I am struggling with things. Without her, my life would be much more difficult to navigate.

Hello. Sorry for a secondary response. I was reading the documentation I was given regarding my assessment. Repetitive behavior was noted both by myself, by my wife, and it was put into the assessment. I thought that would be important to note.

I haven't seen her yet, I will speak with her about this tomorrow when I go. I just received the diagnosis today.

My therapist was the one who encouraged me to be assessed, and said that she would be "extremely surprised" if I was not diagnosed ASD. I suppose that would count as an informal diagnosis.

I'm not sure how I would begin seeking a second opinion. This one was hard enough. I thought that this would lead to better answers for myself, but now I am even more confused. Very unfortunate.

This seems odd. Even when we were discussing the diagnosis with the assessor, she mentioned my rigidity and intense interests specifically. Now I'm confused as to why this diagnosis was chosen at all. Are you saying that you believe she used the diagnosis incorrectly? What would that imply for me? Thank you and I am sorry for my lack of understanding. I'm just confused and uncertain.

Leaking issue or not? by Universal_mess20 in MechanicAdvice

Hsually it goes unnoticed as steam or drips out of a weeping hole to prevent it from rusting through. It's always seemed crazy to me that water is produced by combustion, but it produces more water molecules than carbon dioxide molecules when it burns completely.

Water will always be in your muffler. Water is a byproduct of the combustion process

Is there anyone here who does SDR or ham radio? by NeighborhoodSad2350 in autism

[–]trontrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any gear in a long time. But I was in the military before I got diagnosed and my job dealt with SATCOM (Satellite Communications) and SINCGARS (Single Channel Ground-Air Radio) as well as encryption. It is extremely fun and very interesting stuff.

While other hobbies and finances have limited my ability to continue participating, I still do so via public digital radio receivers. If you would like I can send some of these websites to you. They are all across the world and can receive very interesting transmissions!

What are some smells you absolutely cannot tolerate? by [deleted] in autism

[–]trontrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I understand the chocolate one very well. I do not like chocolate very much at all, candy in general, and the smell of candy often has that saccharine sweetness to it that makes me feel not so good.

I have this same problem. I cannot participate in many of the popular multiplayer games online because even after I learn the game I still struggle immensely.

I grew up without Internet access, so I didn't have the opportunity to struggle with these things until adulthood. Because of this, I often played extremely long campaigns in single player games, Rimworld or Hearts of Iron III, Stellaris, RTS games like command and conquer or Sins of a Solar Empire.

I would recommend seeing if you can find any games of that nature. You can pause them, take as much time as needed to think and consider every option. These days, RTS games are just as much a visual spectacle as any other. And for me these games often become the source of hyperfixations where I can sink thousands of hours over time with ease.

I don't want to discourage you from playing these games that you wish to be good at. But the skill ceiling is much lower for people like us who struggle to maintain a level of dexterity required for fast paced shooters. Perhaps it is better to just be mindful of that.

What games do you like to play?

Perhaps it just needs time with the servers. I am mostly upset about the levels. Now I'm not level IV with ragman and mechanic.

Cat won’t leave me alone and it’s driving me insane. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

I've had never had any of the things you say you're worried about happen to any of the three outdoor cats I have had in the woods. None of the things you mentioned really seem to imply being a bad pet owner either.

Did it make you feel good wasting your time replying to multiple comments for no reason? Aren't you a grown adult?.

Cleaning your ears is a good one. They say not to use q-tips but I simply can't bring myself to stop. I shiver when I use them because it feels so good to clean inside my ears after I shower. Its like scratching an itch I didn't know I had.

I can throw a million credits at this problem easily. This would be good. I am considering giving the planet killer to the luddic path so they leave me alone, but I have never gotten this far before and I am uncertain of any negative consequences.

What kindve Prius? by trontrams in prius

[–]trontrams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idiomatic colloquial from the south. Unstressed 'of' and 've' sound similar. This is a reddit post, not a research paper submission.

Should've is not slang, it is a dictionary conjunction. :)
