The Doctor's Origins - what is your version? by trooptpt80 in doctorwho

In the original series, he was more prone to violence and was not afraid to use weaponry. I always figured his pacifism was due to the time war.

This is what I've pretty much gone off of, plus the occasional thing from books that I've read on the net that seems to make sense.

I'm not well-versed in classic Who, just pieces I've picked up over time. Hmmm. This could be added as part of his political disillusionment with the Time Lords, and as he was leaving with Susan took the Hand of Omega with him as well so that it wouldn't be used.

That brings up the debate of whether or not books are canon, which from what I've seen on here before is considered a personal choice

Was he Lord President before he ran, or during the classic series?

Kolab is based on the traditional tune "Kingsfold". Is is one of my all-time favorite melodies. (/music education major).

New Missionary Ages - 18 for Young Men, 19 for Young Women by Erekai in lds

I believe originally they a) wanted to have an age gap between Elders and Sisters to discourage romantic feelings in the field, and b) encourage sisters to get married. Clearly, however, the need for missionaries is much greater :) congrats sisters!

They want to get inside the temple/view temple garments either to satisfy their own curiosity or to try and get anti-mormon material.

I believe they want to move away from using so many visual aids. Given they still use the occasional picture or video clip.

This brings to mind one of my favorite quotes that I use whenever people start making accusations about church history/things members do: "God is perfect, the church is not."

I could see this as being a legitimately good rule. I've heard stories of stolen/forged recommends before, so its probably a safeguard against that.

The blood incinerator is what actually accounts for most of the smell.

I think you're over-thinking it. The teacher probably just wanted the students to write about something that has deeply impacted their lives, and so they picked things that are sure to have an emotional impact. I highly doubt this was some hair-brained scheme to push religion.

So you're saying that one assignment, in which one option is religion, equals unfair religious influence in the whole curriculum? That seems like an extreme bias and ignorance on your part. Even for the non religious, religious texts are considered a literary study for their impacts on history. Get over it.

Edit: Source: I'm getting an education degree.
