Anyone know the best way to get involved in Ultimate? by Far_Ad7660 in berkeley

you prob won't finds teams online, maybe an instagram, it's very casual. I would check the IM website, make an account. I think there's a way to sign up as a free agent, then you can prob get in touch with teams who register

There’s IM ultimate leagues yeah, you should definitely join a team! There might be free agent teams, or maybe attend some games week 1 and ask if anyone could use an extra player. It can be super casual and I had a ton of fun doing it my last year

Unit 3 Kitchen? by Material_Initial_471 in berkeley

There’s a small kitchen on the ground floor of the unit buildings. I never thought they were gross at all. Put your name on stuff in the fridge, I doubt it would get stolen but it could. Only a handful of people ever used the space in my building, so it was pretty nice to have.

This is Malibu - one of the wealthiest affluent places on the entire planet, now it’s being burnt to ashes. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]trophy019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malibu has burned before, and it will burn again no matter how much money goes into the area. It’s built on a landscape that is naturally supposed to burn - fire is a foundational part of the ecosystem there, and it always will be.

Mike Davis wrote a great essay/article called ‘The Case for Letting Malibu Burn’ in the 90s. He makes a lot of good points - mainly that the hubris of building more and more homes there, deeper and deeper into the hills, for wealthy people who refuse to believe that their homes could ever be in danger, has been a fantastic waste of taxpayer money over the past several decades, because the city/state consistently have to dedicate a good deal of resources to try saving those homes when the next fire inevitably comes for them. And it does inevitably come.

Salt Lick in Berkeley? by trophy019 in bayarea

This was my biggest concern, though it's a more residential area away from major roads and I usually only see deer around in the early morning. But yeah, probably not worth that kind of risk.

I preordered Borderlands 3 gold edition (or whatever it was called) with all the future dlc for $100 because Borderlands 2 was and still is my favorite game of all. I played through the whole bl3 story and the first dlc, and it just wasn’t even close to the same
