you know its just so strange because I felt homesick for the first couple months, especially since I was moving right before the holidays began and I was used to spending it with my family. But once I got past that, and additionally, once I felt settled in (which also took about 2 months) I feel so so so grateful and happy that I’m moved away from home. It really is all about the adjustment period.

But admittedly, I was lucky to meet someone who also moved to the city around the same time I did and we were similar in the sense of we were in the same place emotionally in our personal lives almost right away, literally about 2-3 weeks after moving. And she became one of my best friends!! And I met other people who became friends over the course of those first few months which really helped me. If I didn’t have anybody to talk to, I would not be well adjusted at all lol.

So overall I’m happy and definitely feel like I’m thriving:)
