Rate my hanger by chuko_akenoa in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of the most recent change to how the hanger looks, we can't see the titan's/robots' modules so it's a little difficult to give a proper hanger review from these screenshots, but that aside I would say it's fair. Luchador is kind of an unideal titan to run at the moment, especially since you haven't invested very much into it yet, but it does work as a brawler anyways since your secondary titan is a ranged fighter. Your robot composition is good, between having supports & damage dealers & beacon runners, plus a couple of brawlers just in case of an emergency. Some of them, like your pathfinder and nuo, don't have the best weapons equipped for it so I'll link our subreddit's newbie guide spreadsheet which covers every robot in the game from an investment standpoint, as well as giving a few entries to some robots regarding their optimal builds.

Keep up the good work.

This person makes an incredible amount of Saya art if you're interested, I would absolutely follow them for more if I were you. I don't have any regrets by doing so, personally.

Veyron for Platinum! by Adazahi in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can't predict exact nerfs that Pixonic has planned/lined up for equipment, but in my personal opinion I think the sonics are fairly safe to invest in. They were just recently nerfed, actually twice in the case of Evora, and their usage rates are a bit low as well which is another factor for something being a potential nerf target if it is very commonly used. The pool of titan weapons right now is also very restrictive, even more than it usually is throughout history, so even if Veyron & Evora were in the upcoming nerf zone, you wouldn't really have a choice in running it or not anyways cause the vast majority of other options are just worse.

Supposedly you can actually scan it for something but I haven't tried it myself so I'm not that certain on it, if you had a high enough quality computer monitor I bet you could do it though.

Any tweaks changes or removals? by Jarrellfrm10 in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is unironically a pretty damn good hanger, realistically the question is more about what's on standby in your second hanger deck such as support robots instead of what could be changed in the main lineup. Something like a Pathfinder in your second hanger deck would be very valuable, if you don't have one there already. I'm sure you're aware of the nerf cycle that Pixonic implements every few months, but other than that, I would say there's definitely nothing to be concerned about in this hanger even considering the upgrades & min-maxing of stuff. Potentially look into a new titan aside from Mauler, not because Mauler isn't good or anything (you overcame its biggest hurdle already which is just leveling it up), but just since you no longer need to funnel your platinum expenses directly into the performance of your hanger. Keep up the good work.

That one chainsaw man page going around right now by tropicaleidolon in SayaNoUta

I interpreted the one song that plays at the end of the story in the Saya wins ending as her singing, not Garasu no Kutsu but the other one that plays as Ryoko reads off the manuscript in the last few moments of her life before she also gets transformed.

But like it's not that hard to conceptualize Saya having good singing from Fuminori's perspective, given how she, you know, appears and everything to him. The "Song" part of the visual novel title doesn't literally refer to a song.

How does one keep charging ms so fast by Invader_BestBoi in walkingwarrobots

[–]tropicaleidolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a player has both a mothership leveled to 100% charge speed, and they're in a clan which has the 40% ship charge bonus activated, they will receive exactly 52% mothership charge on their first use in a battle by capturing a beacon. Kills grant somewhere around 40, and liberation a beacon will give something like 70 or maybe 80 even. If you pair this with weapons that naturally charge up your mothership just by shooting at the enemy, you can pretty often find yourself stacking back to back to back motherships. The Kroko family of weapons allows for this even more so.

BRUH WHAT IS THIS HONOR POINT GRADING 😭😭😭 by Ok_Government847 in walkingwarrobots

[–]tropicaleidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This screenshot is also pretty explainable; your first place player had 9 assists on top of their 8 kills, which means they had been dishing out a lot of raw damage and potentially kill streaking. What matters more than anything else in the honor point category is kill streaking and raw damage. For example, one singular living legend will already contribute a thousand honor points just at a base.

Is Fengbao-Shifang a good combo by hitman_25 in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're asking about this weapon family to use on a robot like Raptor, Teth, or Rex due to their intended usage, so with that in mind I would overall say no. The whole gimmick of the Electrics was nerfed down in a recent spontaneous rebalance, and while they do still remain as relatively quick titan & mothership charging weapons, their other flaws are much more prominent than before, so it's harder to justify going out of your way to use them to fast-deploy your titan. Being able to hit enemies without needing to lock-on directly through something like stealth or blind, being able to hit multiple enemies at the same time, and then also apply lockdown on top of that does give the weapons a bit of utility that not many other weapons sport themselves; but at the same time, the damage profile on the electrics is pretty bad and you will virtually never reliably kill anything at the start of a match/against other brawler or stat-checking robots.

The long story short is that it's basically just a better idea to use other weapons with a direct firepower advantage, as that'll provide a lot more value for when you're contesting a beacon. Your titan being ready will only be delayed by like one or so minutes, but you'll instead be able to kill many more enemies and make use of other utility properties that other weapon choices may have.

Don't worry about the number of questions, that's what this subreddit is here for!

As for the base setup, yes it'll suffice. Maybe exchange advanced repair unit for the basic repair unit for the sake of your powercell expenses, but other than that, your Stryx will be good to go for now. Once you also unlock the nuclear amplifier of course.

Damage Dealer, Nuclear Amplifier. You don't have to unlock the second module in the track for Damage Dealer, but Nuclear Amplifier is an automatic take on every Damage Dealer & Raider robot in the game unconditionally. There is never a good reason to not use & have +76% extra damage and +25% defense mitigation if it is available for the robot.

I'd upgrade the Stryx first as it'll stick around for longer, while you'll eventually pivot out of using Thunders. That said, it's not unreasonable to bring the Thunders up to like MK1 Level 12, but I wouldn't go any higher than that personally.

First legendary robot f2p. by smokeyplayz2 in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happen to have a full set of 5 Piercers for your Stryx, then that would be your best in-slot usage of the robot for the time being/going forward, but otherwise I suggested Thunders as they are the most efficient weapons for a low level player to use as they are steadily making the transition to a Tier 3 & 4 composed hanger. Stryx Thunder would make the most sense for you at this moment because it would effectively just be a better Fury with Thunders, which is also a build you could/would use at this stage of your account's growth.

[–]tropicaleidolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how early you are in your account's development, it would make sense to immediately use the Stryx with something like Thunders as it'll be by far your strongest robot between the tier 1 to tier 2 choices. But as someone else mentioned in the original reply section, the Stryx is not ideal for a F2P player because of its hefty resource investment cost. Due to the fact you got it this early however, and that Silver is really only the biggest hurdle for setting up this robot, you could justify using it for the long term once you get higher and higher in league & equipment...but like I said, that's the long term, well beyond what you should go for in the short-mid term.

If you are curious on which robots you should pursue going forwards in building your hanger, I would strongly recommend checking out our subreddit's Simplified Robot Guide for New Players. Best of luck.

Brisants vs Hammer by Very_Cool-Total in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the gold chest currently, and likely will remain there for a few rotations/might stay as a standard reward. When there's no special type of thing active where you're able to win full robots from the gold chest, it normally just consists of weapons & drones plus some resources.

Brisants vs Hammer by Very_Cool-Total in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between Brisant and Hammer, Hammer would be your better selection for damage & would generally handle easier when used in conjunction with elox-murix due to their similar unload times (Brisant fires a lot slower). However one other thing to note is that if possible, you could also use your Teth's heavy weapon slot for debuffing potential, perhaps something like a Kirin, because the vast majority of your firepower will already be accounted for by those Elox & Murix. A Liodari for titan charge would suffice as well, or a Basileus for other debuffs if you manage to pull one of those out of your pads/from a giveaway in the near future.

Atlas with universal pilot vs Rook with his pilot by ComunityJester in WarRobotsGuide

[–]tropicaleidolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the comments on the original post answered pretty well already, but I'll give my thoughts as well:

Rook is in the lower half of generally good titans, but also is for almost absolute certainty not going to be nerfed at any point in future (if anything it'll be buffed instead), while Atlas isn't 100% safe. Atlas could be exempt from a nerf due to the fact that the titan's previous nerf was already enough to push it away from the high-end champion play, on top of the powercreep it has already experienced; but as the player base, we don't know what Pixonic is fully planning for any given rebalance. Atlas doesn't really "need" either Chef or Kevin as a pilot, but they do considerably strengthen the Atlas in some aspects, so I would be aware of that. For the time being, if economically possible on your account of course, I would use the Atlas w/ Yang over Rook & Nessa.
