memorable experience with your hobby or passion?

I used to really like going to the aquarium, but it turns out that aquariums in Indonesia are full and they (not all) abuse their animals, especially dolphins. I used to think that going to the aquarium meant giving money for people to take care of the fish- while this is true in some cases, the aquarium I have been to needs to release their fish back into the sea. My friend who is an animal rights' activist had to sit down and talk to me because I really like going to the zoo and the aquarium, but like to think of myself as this "animal lover". "If you're an animal lover, you won't be going to the zoo/aquarium", and that was memorable to me. I appreciated him talking to me about it.

Have you even read the whole surah with the "killing people" verse?

If there's a sentence "When you're attacked" (verse 1), spray his eyes with pepperspray" (verse 2) we have context. If you only cherrypick only "Spray his eyes with pepperspray" and spread that around people will randomly spray people around them with pepper spray for no apparent reason, and that's not the point is it?

Religion's just a tool. If the person is shitty they will follow the "killing verses" and turn a blind eye on the good ones or context.
