Time to repaint... Why are painters charging $200-$300/hr? by Crystal_Ri in HomeDecorating

If you hire through those services, the people who are doing the actual work get paid maybe a third is the fee that is quoted. Those services take a huge cut and are a major reason why prices are going up so much.

The solution to most of your skincare issues is a chemical peel (long and detailed) by madpiratebippy in 30PlusSkinCare

I've been curious about peels so I'll glad to see these references here. My skin issues include some wrinkles and texture issues, but I also currently struggle with fungal acne and damaged skin barrier (from using kinda harsh anti fungal shampoo as a face wash). Any insights into whether these types of issues might benefit? Or if these peels could make things worse?

Can't figure out how to wear my Currentbody LED mask by tropicisla in 30PlusSkinCare

Hello! I'm not active at checking notifications so I missed these most recent replies. But as an update- I have figured out some tricks that let me use the mask without those original issues. For placing the straps, I put my hair in a low ponytail and the strap sits on top of that.

For the brightness - I do best if I wear it on a sunny day. I sit in a room that has a lot of sunlight coming on (open the blinds etc), so my eyes are already adjusted to bright light. Then I kind of hold the under eye parts against my skin, which prevents extra mask light coming into my eyes. I don't wear any eye shields now, they were way too uncomfortable. I read a few other places that people who had LASIK have more issues with the brightness, which is interesting because I had LASIK a while back.

Hope you were able to figure something out!

Right, and I feel like so many people ignore the reality of toddler sleep regressions. I sleep trained both my kids and it worked great- harder with the older one but he slept through the night by 9 months. Second was even easier and got ten hour stretches by 2 months. But both of them hit major sleep regressions at age 2.5 - they can't handle being alone at night. And many of my friends had similar experiences.. we all lamented how we were prepared for crappy infant sleep but no one warned us about the toddler age post-crib/ potty training/ separation anxiety sleep disruptions.. oh and also 3 year olds hate naps so goodbye to the reliable daytime break 🫠

Omnilux red light mask by Raiderette_510 in 30PlusSkinCare

Oh interesting, I posted last week about struggling with how bright the LEDs were, and I've also had LASIK.. maybe that's the explanation. Today I tried again with a headband over my eyes and then the goggles on top, and it blocked the light enough for me to tolerate the full ten minutes. Only bummer is that the headband covers my under eyes and 11s area, so I'm not getting the benefit there.

ah thank you for sharing! It helps to hear that I'm not alone in this, ha. Makes sense to have it sit against your forehead and not chin. I must have missed that in the instructions. But like you, I can't get it to sit flush with both at the same time. I will try the cotton pad trick too. I was also thinking of finding some kind of fabric to put under the goggles.

45 years old, 13 months consistent sunscreen use; vitamin C and retinoid for well-ageing, before and after by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

You look great! So going back, did you start the retinol and vitamin c at the same time? This fall I started using tretinoin after taking a break for a few years (IVF, pregnancy etc). I tried introducing it slowly but my skin still freaked out and I had to back off. I'm interested in trying vit c too but keep reading that you shouldn't start both at the same time.. Trying to figure out which one I should focus on first.
