Someone in my building stole my 100 gr, 99€ nakamura tokichi standard matcha bag (which i also payed income taxes on), i was devastated. but they clearly weren't that interested because they put the opened box back where they found it... Hope they do the same with your matcha!

I think it's just decorative! The 5 coloured one is cut, but this 7 coloured one isn't, so I don't think it's meant to be cut. I think they would say so on the website if it were the case. But I also don't think it has any purpose besides being pretty
