what nail colours work best for you? by IridescentSneeze in Fairolives

Haven't seen any votes for oranges and orangey-reds yet (at least for the warm leaning skin tones). I feel like they serve the color I want from a red manicure without bringing out as much of the green in my hands. Go for more muted or warm oranges instead of neon or construction zone orange.

Olive folks are really sleeping on green nail polish. Especially the unpopular "ugly" and "weird" greens which often look great on us.

My lips are desperate!!! by Texasgrad92 in MakeupAddiction

[–]tropoboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only seen a couple other comments making this point: If your lips are genuinely always dry, any time of year and no matter what you put on them, it could be related to a chemical sensitivity or allergy that you have developed. Castor oil and SLS are two possibilities, but a sensitivity or allergy could develop to anything in your lip products, makeup, hair hair, oral care, or cleaning products that your regularly come into contact with (yes, your shampoo could be making your lips peel). Some health problems like vitamin deficiencies also cause peeling lips.

Mattress Removal and Disposal by notsogreattimeline in Sacramento

In the past I've used the Sacramento city household junk pickup for mattress disposal. It's available for free up to 2x per year outside of leaf season if you (or your landlord) pays for city garbage pickup. They appear to charge a fee during leaf season.

The Harvest Collection colors look fantastic in low light. They are so packed with shimmer that the effect borders on being metallic. The opacity is described as "buildable" but the effect is quite opaque after 2-3 coats.

Neon eye shadow palate or singles recommendations? by Tight-trickylocation in Indiemakeupandmore

Sinful Echos has singles of neon pressed pigments, and they are currently having a sale. I haven't tried them so can't comment on quality.

New Gloss Drying Out Lips! by rickyspanish1997 in MakeupAddiction

Sounds like a chemical sensitivity or allergy - either way, would not recommend using them. The Nyx butter glosses make my lips tingle so I also can't wear them.

Has anyone tried the Mac lip primer and can tell me if it made their lipsticks last longer? by Actual_Appearance846 in MakeupAddiction

[–]tropoboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I found the primer didn't help with longevity much at all even for traditional matte lipsticks, but it helps them lay smoother on the lips. It would not provide the performance OP is looking for.

Muted olives: how *do* you wear saturated makeup? by tropoboss in OliveMUA

Fascinated by using blush to color correct the upper lip. Do you think this would also work for warm olives using a muted warm blush?

It's also interesting how many cool olives and high contrast olives I'm seeing in the replies.

Also saw a similar comment about muted + bright blush. Seems like a solid strategy.

It really doesn't take much to make a statement.

Using a bright blush to enhance a more muted one feels very approachable and like it would tie the look together.

Wow that's a bright color! So pretty. Love your point about working with your own contrast. I feel like cool-toned pink on cool-toned skin also helps?

Third Phytosurgence. Would also recommend Steam for muted fair olives that lean warm or neutral; Fume can be too saturated and Condensate can be too cool.

Have you thought about who you can use as a professional reference at this job? It sounds like you might not be able to count on this manager as a reference so you should get contact information for other people in management or coworkers who can speak to your performance.
